You are now chatting with 'Desiree'

Hello, thank you for contacting TELUS Mobility Technical Support. My name is Desiree. How are you doing today?
Tiny Giant: at 15:34:49
Good, thank you.
Tiny Giant: at 15:35:00
I'm trying to get the unlock code for my phone
Desiree: at 15:35:11
That's good! Now, there are some conditions to unlocking a device-let's take a look at your account! To start, may I have your TELUS mobility telephone number followed by the account security PIN, please?
Tiny Giant: at 15:35:37
I don't have one.
Tiny Giant: at 15:35:44
I bought the phone second hand.
Desiree: at 15:36:23
Okay, do you know someone that does have a Telus account? In order to unlock a device through Telus, we do need access to the account that the device was used on, and it is $50 for the unlock. Otherwise, I would suggest trying to find another company online or local to you that is able to unlock a device.
Tiny Giant: at 15:37:15
Why should I have to go through so much trouble to use a phone that I own?
Desiree: at 15:38:03
For our unlocking process, we do require a Telus account to complete this-without a Telus account, then I would suggest using a third party company, as we cannot unlock it for you, without an account that has used the device
Tiny Giant: at 15:38:58
That makes no sense. I can guarantee you that I will not be using Telus for anything because of this. I own the phone and there is only a four digit code between me being able to use my phone.
Desiree: at 15:39:52
I apologize for this, Tiny, but we cannot unlock a device without a Telus account. If you know someone with Telus that you can activate this device on their account, then we could use their account to proceed, however, without a Telus account, we would not be able to process the unlock
Tiny Giant: at 15:40:29
So... when did Telus get into the scamming business?
Tiny Giant: at 15:41:19
I know for a fact that I can give you the IMEI number and you can get the unlock code from that and give it to me right now, the only thing stopping you is you.
Desiree: at 15:41:38
Again, I do apologize, but without a Telus account, we cannot unlock a device
Desiree: at 15:41:49
Your best bet would be to go through a third party company
Tiny Giant: at 15:42:24
That's a lie, but I guess I can put Telus on the list of companies that I should never trust.
