Record your screen and audio while completing Practice Challenge #1 or #2 from the lesson. Please keep your video under 4 minutes. Practice articulating what you are doing every step of the way so you are prepared to "pair" program. Record your video in whatever way is easiest - we prefer Loom because it's really easy to share a URL to the video; meaning you don't have to worry about locating and uploading a saved file. Zoom and QuickTime are also options.
Share the link to your recording here: https://www.loom.com/share/e275dcc02ceb4c189a1a83ab30c15d0a
And be ready to share your recording in the Mod 0 Kickoff Session!
- I already did these challenges before I realized I had to record them. What do I do? That was on purpose - you got practice, now that you are a little more fluent, please re-do one while recording
- Building off the previous questions - do I delete the directory? You can. Or you can use a different name such as
home2
. This is about giving you an opportunity to practice and share with your Instructor where you are, so they can support you.
Type your answers to the questions below:
- How confident do you feel in your understanding and fluency with the Terminal commands? I feel pretty confident with my notes in front of me to reference. I still need my notes for reminders but I feel comfortable with both of the challanges in this lesson.
- Look at the vocabulary list at the top of the lesson. Are you comfortable using all terms listed there? If not, what can you do about that? I feel comfortable with the vocabulary in this lesson, but if I didn't I would look at the glossary I started in my notes for a refresher.
- What do you still need to practice or learn? How will you do that? The biggest thing I struggled with this lesson was actually note taking. I am going to go back to the examples notes and see how I could have better incorporated some of their note taking methods.
- Considering the reading about
Asking Technical Questions
- do you have any questions you need to bring to the Kickoff Session (where you'll have about 20 minutes of Terminal review time with your small group)? I do not have any questions, but I do recall the 4 things to include in every question and will use that format when I do have a question.
