Changes to Kaizo Rules for the Randomizer ZX:
- Pokémon Types: Random (follow evolutions)
- Move Data: Randomize move: Power, Accuracy, and PP
- Pokémon Abilities: Ensure Two Abilities
- Pokémon Evolutions: Make Evolutions Easier
- This results in level 40 being the latest a Pokémon will evolve. Middle-stage evos occur no later than level 30. Friendship evos occur at 160 happiness instead of 220; most Pokémon start at 70 friendship
- NOTE: Currently the Tracker doesn't reflect this change in levels, but the game will handle it correctly
- Trainer Pokémon: Add Held Items to: Boss, Important, and Regular Trainers
- Trainer Pokémon: Pokemon League Has Unique Pokémon: 1
- TMs & HMs: Full Compatibility
- Held Items Restriction: All items are allowed to be held, except for the ones listed below under Banned Items
- Head Start: If your main Pokémon has 405 or less BST, you may defeat up to three Pokémon before fighting the first non-rival Trainer
- Abilities: Any previously banned abilities are allowed only if:
- Your main Pokémon hasn't fully evolved yet, and/or
- Your main Pokémon evolved into something new that has a banned ability
- TMs/HMs: Any TM/HM found or acquired can be used on your main Pokémon, but only immediately after defeating a Gym leader. You can only use one TM/HM per victory.
- An exception to the rule is that you can still use a TM on your starter Pokémon before the first battle
- You may delete an HM move with the Move Deleter but you cannot teach the same Pokémon that HM ever again
- Remember, you still cannot buy TMs in any way
- This only applies to your main Pokémon, you can still teach HMs to your HM friend at any time
- Items are Locked: You cannot use items outside of battle in any way until you beat the Gym leader. This includes:
- You cannot give or remove a held item from your Pokémon, including berries, herbs, etc.
- You cannot use anything from your Item Bag: TMs, PP Ups, Rare Candies, etc.
- Get Badges ASAP: While in a city that has a Gym, you must complete that Gym before leaving the city. If there are other tasks or story requirements preventing you from doing so, then you must complete those tasks first then return and battle the Gym right away.
- Example: You enter Vermillion City but are required to go to S.S. Anne for Cut; do that first, then do the gym
- Example: Viridian City Gym is blocked until you get 7 badges; you must immediately go to back to this city and do this Gym once you obtain your 7th badge
