Keep Most Windows 11 Animations with older Custom Themes

Disable the problematic animations

To prevent Windows 11 from Crashing with Animations Enabled

  1. Enable Windows 11 Animations
  2. Open up Run by hitting Windows Key + R, pasting SystemPropertiesAdvanced, and hitting OK
  3. Click the Advanced Tab and then under Performance click Settings...
  4. Uncheck Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing

Voila!

Mileage may vary with different themes but so far I have not had any trouble using this method and
have retained most animations.

This seems to remove more than just those animations as this list is probably not accurate with W11,
but it prevents DWM from crashing while allowing for the other animations ( Start Menu, Taskbar icons, etc. ) to still work.
