oauth2 Implicit Grant authenticator for ember-simple-auth

This is a sample ember-simple-auth authenticator implementation for the oauth2 Implicit Grant which implements "silent reauthentication" (fetching a new token from the IDP via the prompt=none flow). It also uses ember-master-tab to run the refresh process in only a single tab (if the application is open in multiple tabs); at time of writing, it's necessary to use the master branch rather than the version published to npm as it makes use of a recent change to try to recover from the master tab crashing (as opposed to being closed cleanly).

This implementation also expects the token to be a JWT; you may need to adjust the token-related parts if you're not using JWTs.

So how do I use this?

This gist is not a fully developed, drop-in, ready-to-use implementation. It's intended as a starting point for your own implementation, so you'll need to do some work yourself to use it -

Install Powerline fonts for Z shell

Please note: there is an APT package called "fonts-powerline" which is tested and working for Ubuntu 20.04 which achieves the same outcome. Try "sudo apt install fonts-powerline"

If you're using Z Shell and a special prompt theme designed with Powerline fonts in mind, you'll need to install them on your machine. These are the most clear and cut-down instructions that I've found to work with Ubuntu 16.10 (also confirmed working for 17.04, 17.10, 18.04, 19.10) and all credit goes to renshuki's Ubuntu 14.04 + Terminator + Oh My ZSH with Agnoster Theme gist. I've extracted just the Powerline font instructions - my personal setup uses Prezto instead of Oh My ZSH (not included here).

Ember.js Optional Route Parameters

A topic that comes up quite often in Ember.js discussion forums is optional route parameters. Unfortunately for those who have this problem, there's no built-in way to achieve this functionality. But there is a very nice little hack that will emulate optional route parameters for most sitautions. The actual method is pretty simple, it just requires combining a few tricks. I'll describe the high-level deatils here, and you can find working example code below.

What's needed to pull this off:

1. You'll need a resource with a sub-route. The sub-route is the 'real' route that you're going to use. All of your logic should be declared in the controller and template for this route. (Also remember that using a resource generates an implicit index route.)
2. The implicit index route is where you should redirect to if you have no model to provide. It's also where you end up if you go to a URL without providing the parameter. This route immediately redirects to your other sub-r

Introduction

This gist started with a collection of resources I was maintaining on stream data processing — also known as distributed logs, data pipelines, event sourcing, CQRS, and other names.

Over time the set of resources grew quite large and I received some interest in a more guided, opinionated path for learning about stream data processing. So I added the reading list.
