Description
Petrova is said to be the most accomplished thief in all of London - or perhaps only the most accomplished one Keyes knows about. It is the rare lock that manages to stand in her way for long, and she uses both disguises and acrobatic skill to make her thefts. Unfortunately, Keyes has acquired proof of her crimes. He has offered to destroy this proof and furnish Petrova with a nice sum for her troubles if she works for him a little while.

Description
Blackwell served in the 95th Rifles and acquitted himself well in the Napoleonic wars, but soon after was discharged, ostensibly on health grounds. Rumours suggest that there was more to it, but that his superiors did not want to call attention to the situation. Blackwell's officer's pension has been reduced to a bare minimum, and he finds himself short on cash. Keyes has promised him a sizeable sum for his service.

Description
Owen is one of the bright young minds that Keyes likes to gather around himself - a natural philosopher and polymath. He has found himself on the wrong side of the Royal Society's internal politics, and is faced with censure for his theories of the role of magnetism in the nervous system. Keyes has promised to lend him both financial support and use of his social connections so that he might continue his research.

Description

So far, she has failed to acquire a secure spot near the top of that social ladder, and recent indiscretions have had her teetering. Keyes has promised her to sweep aside any insinuations about her moral character.

Description
Scott is a true believer: only by the grace of God will mankind be delivered from the horrors of war, poverty, and disease. Scott's preachings have turned out to be rather too direct for the church's Bishops, especially concerning questions of wealth and charity. He is on the verge of being defrocked or posted to some remote village to rot. Keyes, a friend of his father's, is willing to use his connections to preserve Scott's career.

Emma Sprague (Occultist)




Description
Sprague was born to a poor family in a small village near Nottingham. She started appearing as a palm reader, medium and spirit healer from a young age, tricking impressionable audiences of all backgrounds into believing she was in touch with the dead. Later on, she exchanged this line of work for a trade in occult items, religious relics and artefacts from the depths of Africa and East Asia, becoming quite knowledgeable in occult myths and folklore. Keyes has offered her a sum of money large enough for her to retire on to act as an appraiser for the items he seeks.
