#Job for a week - a revolutionary job-seeking website

##Introduction

###Finding a new job doesn't have to take months

It's time to radically change the way recruitment is done.

Both employers and professionals can greatly benefit from a faster, smoother, cheaper and much more real hiring experience.

With this project we invite you on a very realistic and achievable path to the following:

  • Completely replace the broken recruitment process (CVs, cover letters, references, interviews, smoke and mirrors) with a much more real, valuable and effective experience that both parties can benefit from;
  • Eliminate annoying agencies and middle-men that are expensive for employers and add very little (if any) value to the recruitment process;
  • Make it fast, easy and cheap for candidates to trial multiple job positions at multiple companies in real working conditions and see where they fit best;
  • Eliminate long periods of fruitless job seeking;
  • Make it easy to gain real working experience in any industry in your free time;
  • Make it fast, easy and cheap for companies to trial multiple candidates in real working conditions and pick the ones that perform best;
  • Greatly reduce the risk in making hiring decisions by providing first-hand experience of candidates;
  • Provide an open, transparent platform to freely share experiences, provide feedback and ratings and discuss career opportunities;

Here's how it works:

##Summary

Create a job search website where:

  • Employers can advertise job openings for work that will last 1 week only
  • Any employer can post any kind of job, including for highly skilled labour
  • During this one week, all pay will be equal - the minimum wage
  • One-week employees are contractors (no benefits)
  • We provide a standard contract that both parties must sign (minus any NDA's)
  • At the end of the 1 week, employer is encouraged, but not required to "tip" the employee what they think their time was worth
  • The parties can then either walk out of the relationship or make a longer-term hiring decision based on mutual impressions and at their own terms
  • Website allows plenty of opportunity for two-way feedback, rating, commenting, etc.

##Benefits for employers

  • You get to quickly and easily try out employees and make far better hiring decisions based on that
  • You get to try out lots of candidates really cheap and see how they fit in
  • You can make as many mistakes as you want - you are not stuck with them
  • Forget interviews. This is the ultimate test.
  • Forget high agency fees.
  • Get actual work done while evaluating candidates

##Benefits for contractors

  • Far easier to get a weeker than a regular job, as there is little risk for employers
  • You get to really try out a job and see how you like it
  • You can't make a mistake - even if you hate it, it's only one week
  • You get to build up experience in real working environment
  • Far more likely to get a job offer at the end
  • No awkward, useless, endless interviews
  • Quick and easy way to get lots of references and build up your reputation
  • Never spend months looking for a job again!

##Business model

  • Free for employees to use site, search, apply for jobs, contact employers, get hired
  • Basic £35 fee for employers to list an open position for a month
  • Unlimited applications and unlimited hiring per position
  • Free to communicate with employees and hire
  • No hidden fees or taxes
