To all females, males and everything in between, thus also teenagers,
after 2.5 years (sometimes you have to watch) we're now setting things straight and want to communicate what this community is about.
Starting now our hands-on part will feature three desk groups covering the topics Visualization & Mobile, Participation & Kommune and Sensors & Makers. All of this is connected with the D at the center. It's up to you what you make out of this letter and bring to the city of Frankfurt. It could be data (incl. opening them up), development, design, democracy, data-driven journalism, desires, and likely a lot of other words. Obviously they're all inter-connected.
We'll focus a lot more on being a true lab now and try out and make things. Talking should mostly happen on the first Monday of the month, introducing the projects and the community, while hands-on action with only minor volumes of talking is taking place on the third Monday of the month. So come by Monday the 5th or 19th of February, very importantly we'll also have an Open Data Day Hackathon called #hackfrankfurt on the 3rd of March! Naturally we're also open to new ideas on dates, concepts, and approaches. You might have seen that we, the founders, aren't organizational talents per se and might need help, feel free to chime in, be a project, topic, or desk manager or a social media poster. We already have people who'd do that, but we can and should all learn from each other. For ideas and feedback (e.g. 7 or 8 PM) please use the meetup.com forum of this group for now (we might find a better solution in the future). Or less ideally reply to this mail, use the meetup messaging function or contact @aCandidMind on twitter. But we'd even more love to see you at the lab making things for greater good and/or only for gain of knowledge.
We really want to reach the people of the region, come and do this with us.

An alle Frauen, Männer und alles dazwischen, also auch Jugendliche,
nach 2,5 Jahren (manchmal muss man erst mal gucken) ziehen wir jetzt einige Dinge gerade und wollen mitteilen, worum es bei dieser Community geht.
Ab jetzt wird unser Hands-On Termin drei Tische aufweisen, an denen sich den Blöcken Visualisierung & Mobile, Partizipation & Kommune und Sensoren & Maker Themen gewidmet wird. All das wird mit dem D im Kern verbunden. Es liegt an euch, was ihr aus dem Buchstaben macht und in die Stadt Frankfurt einbringt. Er könnte für Daten (inkl. der Öffnung dieser), Development, Design, Demokratie, datengetriebenen Journalismus und wohl noch viele andere Wörter stehen. Und natürlich sind sie alle miteinander verbunden.
Wir werden uns von nun an noch viel mehr darauf konzentrieren, ein echtes Lab zu sein, Dinge auszuprobieren und umzusetzen. Geredet werden sollte hauptsächlich am ersten Montag im Monat um in die Projekte und die Community einzuführen. Hands-On Action mit nur geringen Volumen an Diskussion findet am dritten Montag jeden Monats statt. Also kommt Montag den 5. oder 19. Februar vorbei, wichtig ist auch, dass es am 3. März wieder einen Open Data Day-Hackathon unter dem Titel #hackfrankfurt geben wird. Wir sind natürlich offen für Vorschläge bzgl. Terminen, Konzepten und Ansätzen. Evtl. ist es einigen schon aufgefallen, dass wir die Gründer, nicht per se Organisationstalente sind und Hilfe gebrauchen könnten, fühlt euch frei euch einzubringen, seid Projekt-, Themen- oder Tisch-Manager oder Social Media-Poster. Wir haben schon Leute, die das tun würden, aber wir können und sollten alle voneinander lernen. Für Ideen und Feedback (bspw. 19 o. 20 Uhr) nutzt bitte fürs Erste das meetup.com Forum der Gruppe (zukünftig evtl. was Besseres). Oder nicht ganz so ideal, antwortet auf die Mail, nutzt die meetup messaging Funktion oder kontaktiert @aCandidMind auf twitter. Aber viel lieber noch würden wir euch im Lab sehen, an Dingen für ein besseres Frankfurt arbeitend und/oder nur für Erkenntnisgewinn.
Wir wollen die Menschen dieser Region wirklich erreichen, kommt und macht mit!
