For a number of reasons, I've recently set up a new OpenPGP key, and
will be transitioning away from my old one.
The old key will continue to be valid for some time, but I prefer all
future correspondence to come to the new one. I would also like this
new key to be re-integrated into the web of trust. This message is
signed by both keys to certify the transition.
the old key was:
pub 2048R/0xE038845EC2F2F765 2011-03-31 [expires: 2016-06-24]
Key fingerprint = CB3B F11B 2CD0 F8ED 9DE0 E889 E038 845E C2F2 F765
And the new key is:
pub 4096R/0x17FBFE517569E11A 2016-03-26 [expires: 2018-03-26]
Key fingerprint = 83EE 4A9A 47B0 E6E6 C6E7 4E6A 17FB FE51 7569 E11A
To fetch the full key, you may fetch from public key server with
gpg2 --keyserver keys.gnupg.net --recv-key 0x17FBFE517569E11A
If you already know my old key, you can now verify that the new key is
signed by the old one:
gpg2 --check-sigs 0x17FBFE517569E11A
If you don't already know my old key, or you just want to be double
extra paranoid, you can check the fingerprint against the one above:
gpg2 --fingerprint 0x17FBFE517569E11A
If you are satisfied that you've got the right key, and the UIDs match
what you expect, I'd appreciate it if you would sign my key:
gpg2 --sign-key 0x17FBFE517569E11A
Lastly, if you could upload these signatures, I would appreciate it.
You can just upload the signatures to a public keyserver directly:
gpg2 --keyserver keys.gnupg.net --send-key 0x17FBFE517569E11A
Please let me know if there is any trouble, and sorry for the
inconvenience.
Regards,
