only gripes i have is comparing sass partials to "Self-contained files".
you can totally do self-contained files in sass. partials explicitly sport the underscore in front to communicate that they are not self-contained and either have dependencies ore are a dependency for other files.
import all needed dependencies in every partial, lose the underscore in front and et voila :)

Because unless we have a shared understanding of UX goals, constraints and opportunities, we will continue to be disappointed by our own false expectations.
And unless we speak a common language, misunderstandings, waste and frustration are built right into our daily workflows.
And unless we work to together across roles and teams, we will not deliver the best UI to our user’s browsers.
What we really fear is not bombs.

No, I think what we really fear is the IS’ intolerance for corruption. These people are willing to die for their ideals (however twisted those may be). Can you say that about yourself? In your whole life, have you ever met a single person who could say that for themselves?
No, we shrug everything off, pressing out an antsy laugh, “everyone has their price”, “sooorryyyy, gotta pay the rent, dude”, "well, whatcha gonna do, right?"
