Venueseen UX/UI Developer Job Description

UX/UI Developer

Venueseen is searching for an excellent User Interface designer with UX experience who's passionate about creating fun, clean, and simple to use web applications.

As UI/UX Designer, you will be tasked with using your UX knowledge to develop a simple, elegant experience for our customers, and implementing that experience with your UI coding skills. We don't want just a thinker, we want a do-er as well. You will work closely with stakeholders as you craft a user expeience that makes sense for our customers, and then work closely with (other) front-end developers to build the experience. You will take your ideas from mocks to production

We're looking for someone with experience using the latest tools and technologies. You'll need to be familiar with responsive design, Single-page web applications, and mobile optimization (or mobile-first if you prefer). You'll get bonus points if you use LessCSS and Knockout.js.

Responsibilities:

  • Design innovative, highly usable interfaces which "just work."
  • Write high-quality, well structured JavaScript, HTML, and CSS using the tools of your choice.
  • Deliver custom graphics which fit the theme and experience of our web applications.

Requirements

  • 3+ Years developing User Interfaces for web applications using JavaScript, CSS, and HTML. (College experience is considerable)
  • Deep understanding of responsive design and mobile-friendly user interfaces.
  • Demonstratable ability to create modern custom graphics using Photoshop or similar tools.
  • Experience turning business requirements and user stories into mocks or prototypes.

We like you alraedy if

  • You've built something yourself on your own time. Anything. Whether it's an open source library, a car in your garage, or the Large Hadron Colider.
  • You love (or have always wanted to work with) Groovy and Grails.
  • You've worked at a start-up before, and it was amazing!
  • You like languages like CoffeeScript, Clojure, LESS, and Sass.
  • You use frameworks like Twitter's Bootstrap to quickly build a prototype, but you're still able to manipulate them to your will.
  • Messy code makes you angry. So angry that you have to fix it before you can move on.
  • You've read career development books like The Pragmatic Programmer, The Passionate Programmer, or The Developers Code. There's a copy in your bag right now, in fact.
  • You get excited about the software development process itself. Things like build automation and automated testing get your attention.
