In order to evaluate you for our designer role, we'd like you to do spend a couple of hours (not more than 2-3) on a task that you think shows us what you can do.
Here's what we'd like you to look into:
Hypothesis users annotate individually and in groups. They often know each other (are researchers in the same area, or classmates, for example), but at the moment they don't have an easy way to know about each other's activities.
The exercise we want you to consider is to design a key social enhancement for Hypothesis, specifically -- adding @mentions and user following to the application.
We'd like you to come up with a proposal for some concrete changes to interface, user flow, and any other aspect of the application's "social" layer that you deem appropriate. This proposal could be in the form of visual mockups, a behavioural prototype, or anything else that you think helps communicate your proposal.
