This laptop came with Windows 10 Home, but is so severely under-specced that it could barely run the OS. However, it happily runs Linux with a lightweight window manager. Here is what I did to get it working the way I wanted. Some of these things I had not needed to do with previous Linux installs, so I am sharing in case this is useful to anyone else in the future.
I used Xubuntu 22.04 for this build.
The BIOS key for the laptop is F2 and the boot options menu is F12.
