MI Grids Input Op Amp Configuration discussion (example: why -5V? what's really going on here?) schematic
How does diode voltage protection work and is it enough? Hagiwo example To me it seems just like a hard limiting
Confusion with pull-downs / pull-ups / input / output resistors:
- Why do we need pull-down resistors on inputs sometimes?
- Why sometimes is it just a series resistor?
- On output, sometimes we have resistor pulling down to ground
- on output, sometimes we have a ~1k resistor in series (for low output impedence? to protect against plugging in the wrong thing?
- Also maybe just talking through "what happens" if you plug in the wrong thing to an output, but have that series "short curcuit" protection?
Some super basic stuff that still wrinkles my brain re: the relationship between series resistors and voltage and currnt vs voltage dividers behaviour etc. I'll do a better job explaining in person
Talk about Transistors, different transistor types (PNP, NPN but also the different types)
- any tips choosing the type for a given use case?
- discuss patterns like op amps to learn? (emitter follower is something I've seen that's like a buffer?)
Also these look pretty cool but I want to make sure I'm understanding them: pjmnc arduino stuff
Thank you!! I know we probably won't have time to get to all this, but I wanted to at least give an outline of the concepts / things I am struggling with!
