DTR Memo

Member Names: Katy St Sauveur & Ally Jarjour

Goals and Expectations for the Project (What does each group member hope to get out of this project? What do we want to achieve as a team? How will we know that we're successful?):

  • Knowledge and improved understanding of JS
  • Practice with pairing and using GitHub branches
  • Practice working with a project board and mapping out steps
  • We want to achieve a working timer through JS

Team strengths & collaboration styles (consider discussing your Pairin qualities here):

According to our Pairin results, we have similar working styles. We are both Objective Analytical and Lovers of Moderation. We have self discipline and like to have goals specified for some structure. We both avoid confrontation, so we can work on checking in and giving honest feedback to eachother.

How we can use our strengths to overcome obstacles:

As optimists, we can keep a positive attitude when things get tough and maintain composure and focus and not become defeated.

Schedule Expectations (When are we available to work together and individually? What constraints do we have?):

We prefer not work late at night but rather start before class or for a limited time after class. We'd like to keep Friday evenings off limits for personal time. Outside of this window, we will work remote through Slack or Zoom.

Communication Expectations (How and often will we communicate? How do we keep lines of communication open? How will we make decisions as a team?):

Abilities & Growth Expectations (Technical strengths and areas for desired improvement):

Katy would like to improve on her CSS skills and Ally would like to improve and consolidate her JS code. We both feel comfortable pushing to GitHub but would like practice pairing and using branches.

Workload Expectations (What features do we each want to work on?):

We would like to map out our projects and cards in a way that we can pull from them and contribute evenly and efficiently. We want to work on commiting often.

Expectations for giving and receiving feedback:

We'd like to keep the feedback constructive and specific. We need to make a point to be more forward in our feedback and communication, since we typically avoid conflict and confrontation.

Project management tools we will use (GitHub projects or Trello are popular tools):

We are going to use Trello for our project board because we like the visual organization and labels.

Day 1 Agenda

  • Map out HTMl and CSS together
  • Ally will create HTML based on written guide we've come up with and push it up to GitHub
  • Katy will create CSS for header and left side of page and push up
  • Ally will work on right side of CSS
