Cool setup. Just a question regarding "session.save_path" on line 29. Should we specify a file location or a value for N below? I am showing session.save_path = "N;/path"

Search session.save_path three times, you will found this line.
;session.save_path = "/var/lib/php/sessions"

Just remove that ; and save.

Thanks. I followed your instructions step by step but I've hit a rewrite issue, after installation I am being redirected to subdomain.domain.tld/login which is a 404 Not Found

Got it to work, I've used a slightly different rewrite:
