Preview

  • Did you preview the post and make sure that everything looks right?

Feed

  • Is there an excerpt?
  • Is there a feed image?
  • Does the feed image look correct (e.g., no cut-off text, no cut-off borders)

Content

  • Have we written on this act before? If so, any information from previous posts that may impact how the current one is written?
  • Is the post content overwhelmingly negative? If so, do not post and see if there is another angle the writer can take.
  • Do some research. For example, has the artist said anything about the song? There could be interesting things to mention other than how the song sounds and when the album is coming out.
  • Bold first mention of artist name
  • Bold and italicize album titles

Image

  • If the post has a video, does the main image in the post look the same as the initial video screenshot? If so, use something else for the main image.
  • Is the image at least 660 x 440 large? If not, get a different image. It is okay to go larger than these dimensions (e.g., square).
  • Are you using a recent image of the band? If not, either update it or make sure there is a good reason to do so.
  • Does the image have a title and alt tag that describes the image? More often than not, this should be the artist.

Video

  • Is it a brand new song accompanied by a video? Make sure to highlight the song - not video - in post title.
  • Is it a video for an already-existing song? Highlight the video in the post title.
  • Is there a divider separating the video from the post content?

URL

  • The URL should be simple and descriptive of what the post is about. It should NOT just be a hyphenated version of the post title since that will contain a bunch of unneeded words. No need for editorial flair here.

Soundcloud

ATG Player

  • Does the song work in post preview mode? If no, do not use the player -- just embed.

Embed

  • Set play button color to black (#000000)
  • Set show_comments to false

Spotify

  • Set player width to 100%, height to 80

Tags

The following should be made into a tag...

  • Artist(s)
  • Genre (e.g., "Pop", "Hip Hop")
  • Record label with "records" removed (e.g., "Epitaph Records" --> "Epitaph")
  • Sounds like artists (only when using the MUSIC category)

Genres should be kept to "Pop", "Electronic", "Remix", "Rock", "Hip Hop", "R&B", "Soul", "Folk"

Song and album titles should not be made into a tag.

If the post is a feature, it should have a "Feature" tag. If the post is a playlist, it should have a "Playlist" tag. This is separate from the categories you check off for posts.

Socials

  • Make sure to remove | All Things Go from Facebook posts
