the think tank 

there were 4 fish and a frog in a fish tank. 
they spent their days swimming around and 
looking at the blurry images on the walls 
of the fish tank…


one day the fish started to talk about 
what could possibly be outside of the 
fish tank.

Jerry a GoldFish,  pointed out that 
whenever a blurry image of a boy comes 
by,  they get food… and that made him 
think that possibly there was something 
outside of the tank.

Murphy the flounder, who had eyes only 
on his back, could only see ontop of 
him , so he only believed in the 
images in front of him, he did not 
believe anything was in back of him.

Joey the catfish said that he knew 
that the images on the glass were only 
projections, because he always was 
sucking at the glass but he was 
never touched anything outside.

Jimmy the angelfish, suggested that 
there were other creatures like 
the boy, outside, but nobody had 
ever seen them.

Jerry then asked Jimmy, “if there 
are creatures outside of the fish 
tank,   how far away can they go 
beyond the glass.

Joey said, “meh,  creatures? there 
is nothing beyond the walls, I 
am always sucking at them, and 
I can’t feel anything but solid,  
they are just pictures, there is 
nothing outside the tank”

Jerry mentioned how there were 6 
different images, the walls in 
front, in back, to the right and 
to the left. and the water on-top. 
and the rocks on the bottom.

Murphy said there were no rocks, 
cause he could not see underneath 
himself.

Jimmy said “well, perhaps the 
outside of the tank goes on 
forever”

Jerry said “no, I don’t think it 
does on forever, because our 
own tank has limits.

they all planned a great 
experiment, they would send 
Humphrey the wise frog out 
the top of the water and jump, 
to see what he could see…

 Humphrey, jumped as high up as 
 he could and took a look, and 
 when he got back into the tank, 
 he reported about the amazing 
 world he saw outside.

Humphrey said “Behold, I have 
come back form outside of the 
tank, and this is what I saw:”

“I saw much more clearly than 
I had ever seen before, I saw 
objects I had never seen before.  
in such clarity as what I see 
inside the tank”

Joey did not believe him and 
said he was making it up.

Jimmy suggested that Humphrey 
should jump again when the kid 
appeared. 

He did that, and observed the 
kid putting food into the tank, 
and he also caught the glimpse 
of another person.

when he came back he said 
“behold, there are other people 
besides the kid and indeed the 
kid gives us food when he comes 
to the tank”

then the conversation was divided,  
how far out does this “space” 
outside the tank go? is it 
infinite, is it limited?

outside of the fish tank, the 
kid asks his grandfather,  how 
much space is there outside 
in the universe? who many stars? 

the grandfather answers,  
“nobody really knows, but 
everyone has an opinion, 
what do you think?”


to the reader “so 
what do you think?
which fish is right?
or do you have your
own opinion?"




Spanish

la piensa pecera 

había 4 peces y una rana en una pecera. 
se pasaban el día nadando y 
mirando las imágenes borrosas de las paredes 
de la pecera...


un día los peces empezaron a hablar sobre 
lo que podría haber fuera de la 
pecera.

Jerry, un Pez Dorado, señaló que 
cada vez que una imagen borrosa de un niño viene 
...reciben comida... y eso le hizo 
pensar que posiblemente había algo 
fuera de la pecera.

Murphy la platija, que sólo tenía ojos 
en su espalda, sólo podía ver por encima de 
él, por lo que sólo creía en las 
imágenes frente a él, no creía 
no creía que hubiera nada detrás de él.

Joey el pez gato dijo que sabía 
que las imágenes en el cristal eran sólo 
proyecciones, porque siempre estaba 
chupando el cristal pero él 
nunca tocaba nada del exterior.

Jimmy, el pez ángel, sugirió que 
había otras criaturas como 
el niño, fuera, pero nadie las había 
visto nunca.

Jerry preguntó entonces a Jimmy, "si hay 
criaturas fuera de la
pecera, ¿a qué distancia pueden ir 
más allá del cristal.

Joey dijo, "¿criaturas? 
No hay nada más allá de las paredes, yo 
siempre las estoy chupando, y 
no puedo sentir nada que no sea sólido,  
son sólo imágenes, no hay 
nada fuera del tanque"

Jerry mencionó cómo había 6 
imágenes diferentes, las paredes 
delante, detrás, a la derecha y 
a la izquierda. y el agua en la parte superior. 
y las rocas en el fondo.

Murphy dijo que no había rocas 
porque no podía ver debajo 
el mismo.

Jimmy dijo "bueno, tal vez el 
exterior del tanque sigue 
para siempre"

Jerry dijo "no, no creo que 
para siempre, porque nuestro 
tanque tiene límites.

todos planearon un gran 
experimento, enviarían a 
Humphrey la rana sabia fuera a
la parte superior del agua y saltar, 
para ver que podía ver...

 Humphrey, saltó tan alto como pudo 
 que pudo y echó un vistazo, y 
 cuando volvió al tanque, 
 informó sobre el increíble 
 mundo que vio fuera.

Humphrey dijo "oigan todos, he 
vuelto de fuera del 
tanque, y esto es lo que vi:"

"Vi mucho más claramente que 
había visto antes, vi 
objetos que nunca había visto antes.  
con tanta claridad como lo que veo 
dentro del tanque"

Joey no le creyó y 
dijo que se lo estaba inventando.

Jimmy sugirió que Humphrey 
saltara de nuevo cuando el niño 
niño apareciera. 

Así lo hizo, y observó al 
niño poniendo comida en el tanque, 
y también vio
a otra persona.

cuando volvió dijo 
"Oigan todos, hay otras personas 
además del niño y en efecto el 
niño nos da comida cuando viene 
al tanque"

entonces la conversacion se dividio  
¿hasta dónde llega este "espacio" 
¿es infinito, limitado? 
¿es infinito, es limitado?

fuera de la pecera, el 
niño pregunta a su abuelo, ¿cuánto 
espacio hay fuera 
en el universo? ¿cuántas estrellas? 

el abuelo responde,  
"nadie lo sabe realmente, pero 
todo el mundo tiene una opinión, 
¿tú qué opinas?"


al lector "entonces 
¿qué opinas?
¿qué pez tiene razón?
¿o tienes tu propia
propia opinión".

想像の水槽

水槽の中に3匹の魚とカエル一匹がいた。
彼らは毎日泳ぎまわり 
水槽の壁に貼られたぼんやりとした 


ある日、魚たちは 
水槽の外には何があるのだろう？
話し始めた。

金魚のジェリーはこう指摘した。
水槽の外に何かがあるのかもしれない。

ヒラメのマーフィーは
背中にしか目がないマーフィーは、水槽の上しか見えなかった。
だから、目の前の映像だけを信じていた。

ナマズのジョーイは、水槽の外が見えない
と言った。
彼はいつもガラスに吸い付いていた。

エンゼルフィッシュの
ジミーは、少年のような
生き物が外にもいること
を示唆した。
誰も見たことがない。

ジェリーはジミーに尋ねた。
水槽の外に生き物がいるとしたら、
ガラスの向こうはどこまで行けるんだろう？
と聞いた。

ジョーイは「生き物？
壁の向こうには何もいないよ。
何も感じない、  
水槽の外には何もないんだ

ジェリーは、6つの異なるイメージがあると言った。
前、後ろ、右、左。
上に水。
そして底の岩。

マーフィーは岩はないと言った、 
と言った。

ジミーは水槽の外側は 
ずっと続いているんだろうと言った。

ジェリーは限界があるだろう、
僕らの水槽には限界があるからね
と言った。


彼らは皆、素晴らしい実験を計画した。
賢いカエルのハンフリーを 
水の上からジャンプさせるのだと、 
何を見ることができるかを見るて確かめる
が良いでしょうと…

 ハンフリー、できるだけ高く
ジャンプして 
 そして水槽に戻ると、
彼は外で見た驚くべき世界に
ついて報告した。

ハンフリーは
ほらよ、僕は水槽の外から戻ってきた。
「見たものはこれだ。
水槽の中で見たものよりも
はっきり見えてきた。 
水槽の中で見えるのように」と言った。

ジョーイは信じなかった。

ジミーはハンフリーにこう言った、
「あの子が現れたら時に 
もう一回ジャンプするべきだ。」

彼はそうした。
子供が水槽に餌を
入れるのを見た。
そして 
もう一人がいるのも見た。

戻ってくると、彼はこう言った
「子共のほかにも人がいる。
水槽に来ると餌をくれる。」
と言った。

そこで話は分かれた、  
水槽の外の 「空間 」はどこまで続いているのか？
無限なのか、限定されているのか？

水槽の外で 
子供はおじいさんに尋ねた
「宇宙にはどれだけの空間があるのか？
星はいくつある？」

祖父は答えた、  
「誰にもわからない。
でも、誰にでも意見はある、 
君はどう思う？


読者には 
どう思う？
どの魚が正しい？
それとも
自分の意見を持っていますか？
