Short summary of The plot of Sailor Moon from the original arc to 
the Stars arc (witten by Usmar A. Padow (amigojapan) copyright 
belongs to Takeuchi Naoko sensei 1992)
(warnning: Spoilers of Sailor Moon are written in this document)

first episode:
Tsukino Usagi, the main character is introduced...
She meets a talking cat called Luna, who gives her a broach to be
 able to transform into Sailor Moon. 
When she actually faces an enemy, she is a cry baby and won't fight
 them. Tuxedo Kamen (Tuxedo Mask) appears, throws a rose on the ground　
 and tells sailor moon 
 "do it now!" Sailor moon uses her powers
 to defeat the enemy, Tuxedo Kamen disappears from the window. 
 Sailor Moon falls instantly in love with him.

Following several episodes:
Several Pretty Guardian Sailor Warriors are slowly found by Luna, and
 Introduced to the team. Total 5 in the main team. Each one
 representing the Roman God  and day of the week they represent in
 western Culture (Sailor Moon is educational)(Sailor Mercury, mizuno
 ami(amichan), Sailor Mars, hino rei(reichan), Sailor Jupiter kino
 makoto( makochan) and Sailor Venus aino minako(minakochan))
They have many fun times too, you grow fond of the characters.
During this series you find out about the past before this current
 evolution of the universe.
Sailor Moon finds out of her true identity as the princess of the moon
 kingdom, where her mother Queen Serenity ruled. She falls in love with
 Endymion (Tuxedo Kamen's previous true identity) and the forces form
 earth come and destroy the Moon Kingdom, in a desperate move,
 Queen Serenity uses the power of the ginsuisho (silver crystal) and
 causes the whole universe to restart, this time the Sailor Warriors are
 Born in Japan, and destined to meet again...
Much of the fun part of the first series is in Sailor Moon and Tuxedo
 Kamen finding out their true identities in the real world (Tsukino 
Usagi and Chiba Mamoru (which was a guy she hated))
this series ends with all of the Sailor Senshi dying in a fight with
 Queen beryl (the queen of the Negaverse(a kind of underworld where
 the baddies come from)
Sailor moon defeats queen Beryl remembering her friends and using 
the silver crystal, which ends up respawning the universe. And
 everyone is back to normal again by the next series.

Sailor Moon R (Important parts)
a little girl called Chibi Usa (small rabbit) comes to Usagi, ends up
 explaining that she is her and Mamoru's daughter from the future in
 the 30th century in Crystal Tokyo(a utopian society from the future)
we are introduced to the other Sailor Warriors (Uranus, Neptune and
 Pluto)

we can probably skip Sailor Moon S and Sailor Moon SuperS
in S Saturn appears.

Sailor Stars:
this part it the masterpiece of Sailor Moon.
A new threat from outer space comes and kills Tuxedo Kamen
 while he was on his way to study University in America. of course
 this also makes Chibi Usa disappear.
Sailor Moon meets a tiny little girl that can't even talk, who ends 
up being also a Sailor Warrior who follows her everywhere.
Usagi is very depressed because she can't get in touch with Mamoru
 in any way.
New enemies appear, which are also Sailor Warriors form outer
 space.
Three new Sailor warriors from outer space also appear. They are
 called the Starlights. They work like idols in their human identity.
One of the Starlights falls in love with Sailor Moon, and Sailor Moon
 refuses him saying that she is taken with Mamoru, he (yes the idols 
are boys in human form) asks if she won't take him instead. She refuses.
The Three lights and all the solar system warriors band together to fight
 Sailor Galaxia (The most powerful Sailor warrior of all time, she
 enclosed "chaos" inside of her body to keep it from destroying the
 Galaxy a long time ago(ever since then she has become evil cause 
of the influence of chaos)) and she has gone around converting 
Sailor Warriors to the path of evil in order to get control of the
 galaxy.
After fighting with many other Sailor Warriors, Sailor Moon is
 surprised to see that two of her friends, Uranus and Neptune have
 betrayed her and taken the dark side to fight besides Sailor Galaxia,
 they receive her bracelets, which gives them more power.
After a fight where Uranus and Neptune kill Pluto and Saturn, Uranus
 and Neptune turn their powers from the bracelet at Sailor Galaxia, 
but they are killed by her, dying.
The rest of the inner senshi are also killed by Galaxia.
Sailor moon and the Starlights are fighting galaxia, until the starlights
 get defeated (but not dead)
finally, when everything seems lost, Sailor Chibichibi (the little girl that 
 was following usagi, reveals that she is "the light of hope" and turns into
 a sword. Galaxia draws her sword and tries to fight Sailor Moon. Sailor
 Moon says "I have lost everyone I cared for, now I will care for you"
Sailor Moon transforms into her nude form for the entire last episode.
And defeats Galaxia by hugging her and reminding her that the "Light
 of hope" was really something she sent out from her before she became 
 evil so that she could return to normal) Sailor Galaxia returns
 to her good form. And says she will go back into the Galaxy to guide
 the Star seeds (what she has been stealing from the hearts of people 
all along) return to their proper owners.
Sailor moon asks (what will happen to chaos?) Galaxia says, "it
 returned to the place it should be in"(inside the hearts of people)
at the end Sailor Moon is reunited with her lost ones.
This is the end of Stars.

Part of the purpose of this post is to get people ready to watch Sailor Moon or at least know the deep plot that runs thru the story.
