XML Schema for ISAD(G): General International Standard Archival Description, Stockholm, 19-22 September 1999.
For reasons of the restrictions of the XML-syntax and efficiency, abbreviated elementnames were applied. These elementnames are tuned with the EAD DTD, for so far no meaning is lost.
The use of the ID-attributes is recommended, but is not required.
The XML Schema offers the possibility:
- to register an archival description conforming to ISAD(G) in XML: the elements reference, title, creator, date, descriptionlevel and extent are mandatory
- to describe individual elements of ISAD(G)
