Suggestions from others!
[08:44] <TonicBH> medal of honor heroes 2 is a decent Wii FPS if you can look past the generic WWII feel of it.
[22:46] <Xenesis> andlabs: Boom Blox should be on that list
[22:46] <Xenesis> And its sequel
[ sequel: BOOM BLOX Bash Party ]
[22:50] <roxahris> hey andlabs, while you're at it you may as well get oneechanbara
[22:52] <vaguerant> The US Okami has waggle controls for attack and shit. European is the same.
[22:53] <vaguerant> Japanese version came out like 18 months later with button controls for most shit and only "dash" on waggle.
[22:53] <vaguerant> If you want to play in English, the PS2 version is probably better.
[22:56] <Skaarg> You know what Wii game is a must get?!
[22:56] <Skaarg> http://www.amazon.com/Coldstone-Scoop-It-Up-Nintendo-Wii/dp/B002GHHJP4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1358740594&sr=8-1&keywords=wii+cold+stone+creamery
[22:56] <Skaarg> :V
[22:57] <Skaarg> Me and my co-workers had a competition to see who could sell the copy we got in when it first came out.
[22:57] <Skaarg> I won. =P
[22:57] <andlabs> lol
[22:57] <Skaarg> Sold it to a bro who wanted a game for his girlfriend.
[22:58] <andlabs> Skaarg: but yes should i seriously add that o my list =P
[22:58] <Skaarg> haha do it
[22:59] <Skaarg> It looked like a shitty flash game when I looked at the back of the box.
[00:41] <BMF54123> http://twitch.tv/bmf54123
[00:41] <BMF54123> Klonoa 2 momentarily
[00:41] <andlabs> is the wii game any good
[00:41] <BMF54123> I haven't finished it :\
[00:42] <BMF54123> it's not bad
[00:42] <andlabs> but is it worth getting
[00:42] <BMF54123> sure!
[00:42] <andlabs> ok
[02:06] <vaguerant> Are you planning on getting a Balance Board?
[02:07] <andlabs> IDK
[02:20] <vaguerant> There's a decent number of fun games for it. We Ski (sequel: & Snowboard), Go Vacation, the first two Shaun White games, Gold's Gym: Cardio Workout (less dumb than it sounds), Mario & Sonic Winter Games, Skate It, Wii Fit (Plus) actually aren't bad, the All Star Cheer Squad games are supposedly good but that sounds crazy, the two G1 Jockey games seem atrociously boring to me because they're
[02:20] <vaguerant> ultra-detailed simulators but who knows, two of the Dance Dance Revolution games use it (three counting Japan), Kororinpa 2 has special BB-only courses ... that's roughly everything.
[02:21] <vaguerant> There's other good games that support it, but in dumb ways that make the game worse. Punch-Out!! is crap with Balance Board, Tetris Party is just stupid.
[02:22] <andlabs> ok
[02:22] <andlabs> why would you play tetris with the balance board lol
[08:40] <vaguerant> Oh wow, XSeed is releasing Pandora's Tower in the USA.
[08:40] <vaguerant> That's really cool, I figured the Wii would just go die in a hole now.
[08:41] <vaguerant> It was a really fun game, not brilliant and pretty repetitive, but nice as dungeon craeling goes.
[08:41] <vaguerant> *crawling
[08:44] <vaguerant> I liked it better than The Last Story.
[09:40] <andlabs> vaguerant: is it another game worth getting though
[09:40] <andlabs> @ pandora
[09:42] <vaguerant> For me I'd say yes, but it's the kind of thing I can definitely see people finding boring. There's a lot of revisiting dungeons to hunt for crafting materials and such.
[09:42] <andlabs> eh
[21:32] <GerbilSoft> hey noobs
[21:32] <GerbilSoft> any of you play the M&S games on wii
[21:32] <andlabs> no sorry, and are they worth playing?
[21:32] <andlabs> if so I'll put them on my list
[21:32] <GerbilSoft> they are
[21:32] <GerbilSoft> moreso in multiplayer
[mario & sonic games]
[13:47] <andlabs> also is Wii Goldeneye worth getting
[13:48] <Tonic|Birthday> andlabs: yes, if you haven't played Reloaded on 360/PS3 yet
[13:48] <andlabs> Tonic|Birthday: haven't
[17:58] <Truxardas> RE4?
[17:58] <andlabs> which one is that
[17:58] <Truxardas> Resident Evil 4.
[17:59] <andlabs> yes but I mean which one
[17:59] <andlabs> is it that gamecube one or is it a different one
[17:59] <Truxardas> The Wii version.
[17:59] <Truxardas> Best version of the game.
[17:59] <andlabs> ok
[01:41] <vaguerant> Did you play the Prince of Persia games last gen?
[01:41] <vaguerant> Sands of Time, Warrior Within, the third one ... Two Thrones maybe?
[01:45] <vaguerant> The interquel on Wii (between Sands and Warrior), The Forgotten Sands, is a great game. The PS3/360 version is a different game, Wii version has pointer-based sand powers like shooting hooks at walls for Prince to use as handholds. It works really well and I generally don't like pointer crap.
[01:45] <andlabs> vaguerant: no
[01:45] <andlabs> I'll put it on there anyway
[01:46] <andlabs> are the other prince of persia games on the wii good
[01:46] <vaguerant> You should play at least Sands, I'd say it's the best game of last gen.
[01:46] <vaguerant> Rival Swords is just a waggle-port of Two Thrones.
[01:46] <andlabs> lol
[01:46] <vaguerant> Get it on something last-gen if you want to play it.
[01:47] <vaguerant> I think that's all there is on Wii.
[01:47] <andlabs> ok
[01:47] <andlabs> thanks
[01:57] <vaguerant> Wait, how do you not have Red Steel 2 on there.
[01:58] <vaguerant> MotionPlus sword/gunfighting FPS in a mashup feudal Japanese wild west setting.
[01:58] <vaguerant> It sold like crap because Red Steel 1 was a terrible game.
[01:59] <vaguerant> They're essentially unrelated games though, certainly no plot connection or anything, just "games about swords and guns".
[06:00] <vaguerant> Someone should tell andlabs A Boy and His Blob, too. 80 on Metacritic. It's a lot less open than the original game and has a standard "stage" system but they're well designed and the art is some of the best on Wii.
[06:20] <vaguerant> andlabs: And Rayman Origins if you don't have anything ... HD-ier to play it on.
[22:31] <andlabs> GerbilSoft: also I am still curious about bust-a-move :V
[22:32] <GerbilSoft> it's interesting
[22:32] <GerbilSoft> i tried multiplayer
[22:32] <andlabs> oh ok
[22:32] <GerbilSoft> you have to point
[22:32] <andlabs> so I'll put it on my list
[22:32] <GerbilSoft> (to aim)
[22:32] <GerbilSoft> and there's new 'special' items
[22:32] <andlabs> .
[22:32] <andlabs> wat
[22:32] <andlabs> lol
[22:33] <GerbilSoft> also "8p" is accomplished with 4 remotes and 4 nunchuks
[22:33] <Metal_Man88> Needs a huge TV for proper execution IMO
[22:33] <Metal_Man88> Otherwise, you have 8 people practically stacked atop one another
[22:33] <GerbilSoft> yes
[22:33] <andlabs> added
[22:33] <GerbilSoft> the box shows an 8 wiimote symbol though
[22:33] <Metal_Man88> Huh.
[22:33] <GerbilSoft> which is silly
[22:34] <GerbilSoft> (how'd that get past nintendo qa)
[22:34] <andlabs> TAITO!!!!1111
[bust-a-move blitz]
wiiware:
[08:30] <VagueUser> Icarian (now NyxQuest for copyright reasons) is a god-themed platformer, both LostWinds games are nice, most of the Art Styles are good, Orbient is space gravity katamari, Rotozoa is evolutionary katamari, Rotohex is a hexagonal Tetris kind of thing.
[08:31] <VagueUser> Those last three are all Art Style games.
[08:31] <andlabs> ok
[08:31] <VagueUser> Fluidity is a great comic book water (+ ice and steam) physics platformer.
[08:32] <andlabs> any others? other than the rebirth ones
[08:33] <VagueUser> Let's Catch is Yuji Naka's ... catch game. People say it's good, never tried it. Mega Man 9 and 10, Rush Rush Rally Racing is cool, a Dreamcast port.
[08:33] <andlabs> oh right the mega man ones forgot those =P
[08:33] <VagueUser> Top down like Micro Machines.
[08:34] <VagueUser> Vampire Crystals is an insanely hard twin-stick shooter.
[08:35] <andlabs> it was just released?
[08:35] <VagueUser> Yeah, like maybe 2 months old.
[08:36] <andlabs> right it's the newest non-VC game here
[08:36] <andlabs> ...they still have not announced a release for pandora's tower, huh
[08:36] <andlabs> are there any more WiiWare suggestions? if not then thanks
[08:36] <VagueUser> The Shin'en games are all pretty good.
[08:37] <VagueUser> FAST Racing League is the closest thing to F-Zero, Art of Balance is a zen physics puzzle thing.
[08:37] <VagueUser> They have a platformer, too, Jett Rocket I think?
[08:38] <VagueUser> Yeah, Jett Rocket. Gorgeous game, fully 3D worlds and a fun jetpack mechanic, but only like three stages.
[08:38] <andlabs> ok
[08:39] <VagueUser> I know you can't play it, but there's a Japan-only bubble wrap game.
[08:40] <andlabs> ha
[08:40] <andlabs> WiIWare games are all presered so if I do jailbreak then I can play it :V
[08:40] <VagueUser> You just sit there pushing 1 and 2 like you're popping bubbles.
[08:40] <andlabs> actually since WiiWare games are all preserved I shouldn't have a problem witht hem
[08:41] <VagueUser> Yeah. Several have dropped off the service, which is a real shame unless you're a pirate.
[08:41] <VagueUser> Nothing great is gone AFAIK, but still sad.
[08:42] <VagueUser> Oh, there's Wii Cave Story if you have any reason to play it.
[08:43] <VagueUser> I've played through it on PC and Wii multiple times, the new graphics and modes are all right but meh.
[08:44] <VagueUser> Our article on TCRF is outdated, it talks about the US version being gimped in comparison to the PAL version.
[08:44] <VagueUser> But they pushed an update with all the fixes from the PAL version ages ago.
[08:45] <andlabs> I still need to play it ton PC
[08:45] <andlabs> I only got to the first village and got stuck
[08:47] <VagueUser> Snowpack Park is by Skip Ltd.: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowpack_Park
[08:47] <VagueUser> I love Skip but the game bored the hell out of me. Penguin life sim.
[08:50] <VagueUser> If you're into things that suck, Fast Draw Showdown is a laserdisc game.
[08:50] <andlabs> on wiiware? lol
[08:50] <VagueUser> Western light gun shooter like Mad Dog McCree.
[08:50] <VagueUser> Yeah. The video quality is a mess.
[02:18] <vaguerant> andlabs, do you have that Zangeki no Reginleiv game on your Wii list.
[02:19] <andlabs> ...what
[02:19] <vaguerant> Oh wait, never mind, you don't want to mess with hacking, and it's Japan-only.
[02:19] <vaguerant> MotionPlus online monster swordfighting kind of thing.
[02:20] <andlabs> I'll add it anyway
[07:41] <TimmiT> Wii version of Driver: San Francisco is different and a crappy cash-in
[14:13] <vaguerant> Fragile Dreams, on Wii.
[14:14] <andlabs> hm
[14:14] <XkeeperLaptop> so thumbnails were broke
[14:14] <XkeeperLaptop> they are no longer broke
[14:14] <XkeeperLaptop> you are welcome o/
[14:14] <vaguerant> Released in 2009.
[14:14] <Shard_> vaguerant: is it the JP trailer?
[14:14] <andlabs> is that a game worth getting
[14:14] <vaguerant> Yes, Japanese.
[14:14] <Shard_> might have just been used for testing the video driver
[14:14] <andlabs> yes to me?
[14:14] <Shard_> or something like that
[14:15] <vaguerant> No idea if it's worth getting, I just "got" it to see if it's fun.
[13:55] <andlabs> vaguerant: is Geon Cube good
[13:58] <vaguerant> It's not bad, but you really need someone to play with.
[13:58] <vaguerant> It's two-player by design.
[13:58] <andlabs> ok
[15:57] <GerbilWork> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FlingSmash
[15:57] <DocScratch> Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8 Updated: 3 days, 23 hours, 45 minutes, 51 seconds ago Title: FlingSmash - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[16:01] <andlabs> developed by artoon
[16:01] <andlabs> lol
[16:03] <andlabs> is it worth getting though
[16:04] <andlabs> GerbilWork:
[16:04] <GerbilWork> for the remote, yes
