Abstract:

In the evolving landscape of Kaspa's mining economics, there is a pivotal need to ensure continuous miner incentive as block rewards phase out. With an emphasis on preserving Kaspa's competitive low-fee advantage, the Reverse Fee Adjustment Mechanism with Spam Mitigation (RFASM) proposal introduces a dynamic yet robust fee structure to align network security and usability.

Proposal:

The RFASM integrates a dynamic fee algorithm with anti-spam safeguards, operating under these principles:

  1. Reverse Fee Adjustment: Fees adjust inversely with network activity—increasing during low activity for miner incentive, decreasing during high activity to maintain user engagement.

  2. Anti-Spam Threshold: A minimum fee threshold is maintained to deter spam transactions, ensuring network integrity without compromising affordability.

  3. Adaptive Minimum Fee: This threshold adapts to Kaspa's valuation and network expenditure trends, ensuring the minimum fee is economically discouraging for spam attacks but still fair for genuine users.

  4. Automated Monitoring: Implement real-time monitoring systems to identify and mitigate unusual transaction patterns indicative of spamming behavior.

  5. Community-Driven Updates: The parameters for RFASM, including the minimum fee threshold, will be subject to periodic community review to adapt to the evolving ecosystem and technological advancements.

Conclusion:

The RFASM proposal aims to harmonize the need for miner incentive with user experience while safeguarding the network against potential abuse.
