On Mavericks, my laptop had issues on my home wi-fi, an old WRT54G Linksys router.

Troubleshooting:

Tips:

  • change DNS servers to google DNS 8.8.8.8
  • set MTU size to 1453 (refer to OS X Daily article)
  • reset Chrome (disables all extensions)
  • considering changing home wi-fi radio channel if using 2.4ghz bluetooth devices
  • disable bluetooth devices and see if it makes a difference (this appears to be the main issue for me)
