Obviously incomplete, and also entirely untested.

@timholy This is the kind of thing that I was thinking of doing to define image transformations. It can be quite light - I think as fast as you were doing - or it could be made to do quite complicated things like that expected in professional graphics applications (correct addition/averaging in non-linear color spaces and supporting a variety of filtering operations).

Not sure what you were thinking of in terms of design?

@c42f Chris you might have some peripheral interest in this, given your previous work on imaging... not sure if you have an opinion?

There seems to be a problem with the LinearFilter() when 1 < x < size(A,1), but maybe otherwise it is semi-working? It seems to be working for me now.
