DTR for Black Thursday Project

DTR Memo

Project: Black Thursday

Group Member Names: Adam Lusk, Eliot Swank, Evan Wheeler

Project Expectations: What does each group member hope to get out of this project? Better understanding of OOP, experience working with databases and CSVs, data analytics in Ruby

Goals and expectations: Finish all iterations, try to get a 4 in at least one category

Team strengths: Adam: Good at interpreting spec sheets Eliot: Psuedocoding and data structures Evan: Object oriented concepts

How to overcome obstacles: No more than 1 hour of being stuck without asking for outside assistance Not too rigid in work assignments

Schedule Expectations (When are we available to work together and individually?): Lots of school time, so be flexible to stay after if necessary. Tues - Thurs after school are available.

Communication Expectations (How and often will we communicate? How do we keep lines of communication open?): Pay really close attention to Waffle.io

Abilities Expectations (Technical strengths and areas for desired improvement): Defined three categories of areas for improvement Analytics, Objects, Relationships. Team is taking turns working in these areas.

Workload Expectations (What features do we each want to work on?): Same as abilities, team is taking turns building objects, establishing relationships, and creating analytics

Workflow Expectations (Git workflow/Tools/Code Review/Reviewing Pull Requests): Break each iteration into elements and create a branch for each. Only pull once the feature is complete.

Expectations for giving and receiving feedback: Follow the Gear-Up guidelines

Agenda to discuss project launch: Go through spec and diagram the objects. Break out elements and assign in Waffle. Ideas: We want our test suite to run in less than 3 seconds! Tools: Want to learn how to build mocks, run spec harness, and understand relational databases. We plan to use Waffle.io for scheduling tasks and dividing work, and Slack as our primary communcation channel. Additional Notes: None for now.
