The System Administrator Day
SysAdmin Day
------------
Yes, it's that time of year again. The last Friday of July.
System Administrator Day is again upon us and I have no doubt
that most of you have already prepared traditional offerings
and drafted your Thank You speeches.
Curiously enough, sysadmins themselves insist on calling it
SysAdmin *Appreciation* Day, almost as if they are trying to
hint at something.
Appreciation comes in many forms, including bottled, corked
and glazed toroidal, but one thing that is universally
accepted as the greatest gift of all is simply leaving your
IT people alone, even if it's for just one day.
To that end we've thrown together...
SysAdmin Day Pledge
(https://bvckup2.com/sysadminday)
A user-friendly way to solemnly swear that you will try your
best to make sysadmins' lives pleasant next Friday, July 31st.
If you aren't certain that you'll manage to remember the date,
nothing works better than the risk of public shaming. Plus the
fact that there's going to be a Bvckup 2 sale on the same day,
but that's just a bizarre coincidence.
So take a pledge and then go and discretely ask your sysadmin
how strong they like their whiskey ;)
