Fistandia’s Mansion
The first adventure in Candlekeep Mysteries has one map: Fistandia’s Mansion. The following is a text caption for this map.
Fistandia’s Mansion has three levels, labeled Upper Level, Middle Level, and Lower Level. Each room in the mansion is labeled M1 to M19, and some room entrances are labeled with an S to denote a secret room entrance. The map legend shows that each square of the mansion map has a width of 5 feet.
M1 is on the Middle Level. M1’s double-door south entrance is the main entrance to the mansion. The south entrance has a 5 by 10 foot entryway area that opens into a 5 foot-wide hallway with seven room doors and an ascending staircase. A door to the west end is 40 feet from the mansion entrance and opens west into M2. Beside it, 35 feet away from the mansion entryway, is a door that opens to the north into M3. 15 feet to the west of the entryway is a door that opens north to M4. Directly north of the mansion entrance, 10 feet away from the south door itself, is a door leading to M5. 5 feet east of the mansion entryway is a stairway leading northwards to the Upper Level’s M10. It’s a single flight of stairs 15ft long from above. 10 feet east of the same spot, directly adjacent to the stairs, is a door leading north to M6. 30 ft east of the mansion entrance is a door leading north to M8. Finally, there's a door 35 feet east of the mansion entrance, leading east to M9.
M2 is on the Middle Level. M2 is an open area with a half-circle of masoned patio with diameter equal to the width of the whole mansion, 25 feet. The southern door leads east to the M1 hallway. There’s a door leading east to M3 10 feet north of that, which is at the center point of the half circle.
M3 is on the Middle Level. M3 is a square room, 20 foot across. The map notes a chair and desk in each of its four corner squares, taking up no more than 25 square feet each. There are two doors, one leading west to M2, and one leading south to M1, each adjacent to the desk in the southwest corner desk. The wall space not occupied by doors or desks are otherwise lined with bookcases. There are also two 10 foot-long bookcases running north to south 5 feet away from the east and west walls respectively, and 10 feet away from each other. This leaves a 5 foot gap to walk around them at each of the corners of the room, possibly stubbing one’s toe on a desk chair as you do so.
M4 is on the Middle Level. M4 is a rectangular room, 20 feet long running north to south by 15 feet wide. Centered on the west wall is a 10 foot long weapon rack with weapon hilts jutting out of it. Centered along the east wall is a mannequin. Centered inside the north wall is a 5 foot wide window. The only other exit is a door centered in the south wall leading south to M1.
M5 is on the Middle Level. M5 is a square room, 15 feet to a side. 15 feet of bookcases line the north wall. There are paintings hugging the north and south corners of the west wall, and one in the center of the east wall. There are chairs and small tables in the northeast and southwest corners of the room. Finally the only doorway to this room leads from the center of the south wall to M1.
There is an S labeled in the westernmost square of the north wall of M5, leading through a secret passageway into a 5 foot across stair landing at the head of the secret stairs down to the Lower Level. The stairs down are 10 feet long from above.

M6 is on the Middle Level. M6 is a square room, 15 feet to a side. A 15 foot long iron stove runs from the southeast corner along the southern wall, terminating in a door leading southward to M1 in the southwest corner. There are 5 foot long cabinets in the center of the west wall, the center of the north wall, and along the east wall push into the north east corner. In addition to the hallway door, there’s a door in the east wall just north of the stove leading to M8, and a door in the north west corner leading northward to M7.
M7 is on the Middle Level. M7 is a rectangular room, 15 feet long east to west by only 5 feet wide. Stocked shelves line the entirety of the northern and eastern walls. A door in the southern wall hugs the southwest corner, leading back to M6.
M8 is on the Middle Level. M8 is a rectangular room, 20 feet long running north to south by 15 feet wide. At the center is a 5 foot by 15 foot table surrounded by six chairs, with a seventh chair in the northwest corner of the room. The east side’s floor-to-ceiling windows span the entire 20 feet across. There’s a door in the center of the south wall leading to M1, and a door just south of center on the west wall leads to M6.
M9 is on the Middle Level. M9 is an enclosed space, a 25 foot north to south room with ten feet of wall at the poles that give way to a semicircular glass enclosure, making it 20 feet wide at its widest point. Four 10-foot long planters are spaced 5 feet apart and 5 feet from the north and south walls, up against against the windows looking into M8 to the west. There’s a door leading to M1 in the southernmost corner of the west side of the room.
M10 is on the Upper Level. M10 begins at the head of a 15 foot long staircase originating in M1 at the Lower Level. Once arrived at the head of the stairs, there’s a door leading directly eastward from the upper landing to an unlabeled hallway. To the west of the landing begins 20 feet of 5 foot wide hallway running north to south with a 15 foot bannister. A door leading westward to M11 is 10 feet south of the landing.
M10, M14, and M15 each connect to an unlabeled hallway 15 feet long running east to west. A door on the western wall leads to M10. A door in the center of the southern wall leads to M14. A door in the eastern wall leads to M15.
M11 is on the Upper Level. M11 is a rectangular room, 25 feet north to south by 20 feet wide. Cabinetry line the entire north and south walls of the room. Two long tables with scientific equipment atop them stretch across almost the entire length of the room, east to west, leaving less than 5 feet of room to access the cabinets to the north and south. These long tables are 5 feet apart, leaving a clear walkway between the doors in the centers of the east and west walls. The east door leads to M10, and the west door leads to M12.
M12 is on the Upper Level. M12 is a square room, 15 feet to a side. M12 contains five evenly spaced telescopes pointing to the ceiling, three close to the western wall, and one each close to the center of the north and south walls respectively. A normal door is in the center of the eastern wall leading east to M11. The letter S in the center of the western wall denotes a door to M13 that requires a puzzle to be solved in this room.
M13 is on the Upper Level. M13 is a rectangular room 15 feet long north to south by 10 foot wide. A long bookcase lines the whole western wall. The letter S in the center of the eastern wall denotes a special door to M12 that required a puzzle to be solved to access this room.
M14 is on the Upper Level. M14 is a rectangular room 20 feet long running north to south by 15 feet wide. The only entrance is a door at the center of the north wall that leads out to the Upper Level unlabeled hallway. There are chairs and reading tables in all four corners of the room. A grand stone fireplace more than 5 feet across juts out at the center of the south wall.
M15 is on the Upper Level. M15 is a rectangular room 25 feet long running north to south by 15 feet wide. There is a 12 foot by 10 foot bed pushed into the south western corner of the room with its headboard facing north. There is an 8 foot long dresser in the south east corner running along the east wall. There’s a small chair in the north east corner. A door in the center of the eastern wall leads out to M16. A door in the north west corner of the western wall leads to the Upper Level unlabeled hallway.
M16 is on the Upper Level. This open air balcony is 15 feet north to south, and 10 feet from door to opposing handrail. The westward door leads inside to M15.
M17-M19, the rooms of the Lower Level, have two unlabeled hallways leading to them. To reach the Lower Level hallways, one must find the secret entrance to the stairwell accessible via M5 on the Middle Level. The Lower Level eastward-running stairwell is steeper than the other staircase, 10 feet long from above.
The first unlabeled hallway begins at the northernmost end of the mansion and is 5 feet wide. There is a door to a second unlabeled hallway directly across from it to the east. Leading south from the Lower Level stairwell landing is 25 feet of hallway, interrupted by a door 20 feet from the stairs. This door leads westward to M17.
The second unlabeled hallway begins from a door directly east from the Lower Level stairwell. Following through this door is another unlabeled hallway running 15 feet east to west and 5 foot wide. At the center of the south wall is a door leading to M18. At the east end of the hallway is a door leading to M19.
M17 is on the Lower Level. M17 is a square room 20 feet to a side. Two 10 foot long tables each run from east to west long the length of the room, spaced roughly 8 feet apart and a few feet from the north and south walls. Atop the tables are alchemical equipment and books. There’s a door eastward to the first unlabeled hallway, 5 feet away from the southeast corner of the room.
M18 is on the Lower Level. M18 is a rectangular room 20 feet long north to south by 15 feet wide. A 5 foot wide runed circle is at the center of the room. A bookstand sits 5 ft from the southern wall, facing the circle. Three bronze braziers each sit at the center point between the circle’s edge and the west, north, and east walls respectively. A sole door sits in the center of the north wall, leading to the second unlabeled hallway.
M19 is on the Lower Level. M19 is a rectangular room 25 feet long north to south by 15 feet wide. Glass cylinders of every size line the east and west walls, many of which are sat upon the two 10 foot long tables along the center of each wall. The one door in the northwest corner leads westward into the second unlabeled hallway.
