PrettyQuick - Mobile Developer (iOS)
PrettyQuick - Mobile Developer (iOS)
## What We're Doing
PrettyQuick is the easiest way to book beauty services. We allow our users to book beauty appointments directly from their browser or smartphone. We pride ourselves on providing trusted recommendations and an excellent customer experience. Headquartered in Chicago, we're currently live in six cities and adding new partner salons every day.
We're solving a challenging problem: seamlessly matching supply and demand in a highly fragmented $60 billion industry. We're laser-focused on a technology-centric strategy and we need your help to make it happen.
## Why We're Hiring
Our booking patterns are shifting away from desktop and toward mobile as our app gains traction. We see our mobile app as the best way to give our customers a delightful realtime beauty-booking experience. Growth on our mobile platform is a key component of our overall strategy, so mobile development is a foundational competency for us to build upon. We need to bring mobile development in-house to ensure we can continue to iterate toward the perfect experience as quickly as we're learning about our customers and our market.
## Job Description
Consumers love our current iOS app but we want you to help us take it to the next level.
We're looking for someone ambitious and motivated, willing to roll up their sleeves and find the answer to any problem. We have a lot of work to do, and we mean it when we say we need your help. Your contributions will be integral to our success. You'll be employee number seven and our only full-time mobile developer; the current development team of two people is focused on web and backend development.
In such a small company we all take responsibility for the goals of the business and work collaboratively to achieve them. You’ll be able to contribute at every stage of
product development, from requirements through design and development to testing and release. A startup by nature is a less structured environment and you'll have a lot of responsibility for defining your work. Your ideas and feedback will be an essential influence on our process and product.
We believe in the paramount importance of the customer experience. We're humble about our code because what's important is finding the best way to do things. We're all very curious people and enjoy working together to explore a problem space and find the best ideas. We try to mitigate risk by taking small steps and creating safety nets (eg: test-driven development, continuous integration).
Our CTO will be your resource on a daily basis to help you define your projects, determine your approach, answer questions, and generally make sure you have everything you need to be successful. We want you to get as much out of this opportunity as you're putting into it!
## Requirements
* 3+ years mobile development experience
* Confident with object oriented programming
* Strong understanding of Objective-C, XCode, and app store rules
* Experience working with remote APIs
* Experience with automated testing
* Knowledgable about web architecture
* Passionate about user experience
Ideally you'll be able to write some of your own API endpoints in our Rails app (or be interested in learning), but previous backend experience is not a requirement.
