iCarpentry is looking for whole home hackers to join our family

iCarpentry is looking for a Whole Home carpenter to join its team and help create on-demand indoor and outdoor customer experiences. You should have Whole Home abilities, amazing pine 2x4 and 4-ply plywood skills, and be all-around awesome.

Description: Whole Home Framing Carpenter

Think of us as the Uber meets AAA of elite tract residences. iCarpentry started on a college campus repairing tract homes two years ago. Now, we have a geo-locational, on demand dispatch service going out to over 350 iConstructors in 11 countries around the world. We are a Y Combinator (W12), very well funded, and looking for talented carpenters to join our team. We have an incredible, core team with beautiful office spaces on the water in Redwood City. You‘ll be joining a talented team of developers and designers to bring together the ultimate on-demand and on-location buyback and repair experience for thousands of existing customers and millions of potential customers around the world. We’re working with all kinds of fun wood, framing, pre-fab parts, and services to provide a new kind of market and customer experience never seen before. We‘re moving fast. We build, iterate, and ship constantly so you will be putting houses in neighborhoods all the time. This is an exciting time to get in a position at the company, as you’ll be able to be involved in a lot of the big picture development for our exciting projects in the pipeline. Do you think you have what it takes?

What we're looking for in you:

  • Whole Home Abilities
    • Pine 2x4 Mastery (we're always using the most of what pine 2x4s have to offer, so you should be well versed and unafraid to dive into the newer features of the wood), 4-ply Plywood Dominance, and everything in between
    • A love for searching toolboxes, driving around, and changing drill bits
    • Knowledge of aesthetics stuff like paint, drywall, and dynamic lighting
    • Drive (Our business is growing fast, so we need carpenters who aren't afraid to take charge of a project and see it through to completion)
    • An Interest in Tinkering (We love to see carpenters that have cool side projects or interests in technologies outside of work)
    • All Around Awesomeness (Everyone here is friendly, intelligent, and very outgoing, and we want to invite more people like that to continue making the company an awesome place to work)

With iCarpentry, you wouldn‘t be starting a new job; you would be joining a family. We take care of all team members and provide almost all amenities to make everybody’s lives better. Endless food, unlimited coffee/energy drinks, free membership at our incredible gym (Pacific Shores Club) just a few steps outside the office, unlimited rides on our yacht parked right outside the office on the water, retreats, benefits, bonuses, and pretty much whatever else you want. Heck, we'll even give you a sweet bedroom in our house(s) just minutes from the office if you need/want. Salary is negotiable (80k-120k) and we have set aside great equity packages and other benefits for you.

To apply for this position: Please email your portfolio / hobby work / carpentry-related articles, resume, cover letter, online resume, personal website URL, and any other neat, personally identifying information to carpteam [at] icarpentry [dot] com
