  • Bad keyboard (keys either not registering presses, or registering too many. Particularly annoying when it's the command key that is not working, making copy/paste operations difficult)
  • Bad trackpad (phantom mouse movements, unintended scrolling or navigation)
  • Crackling audio
  • Subdued audio (as though underwater)
  • Screen brightness low on unlock (even after disabling auto brightness)
  • Screen desaturated after unlock
  • Plays random loud sound when plugging into power source (audio volume is ZERO)
  • Cursor haphazardly just isn't fucking there, and typing does nothing
  • Unlock screen slow after boot (FileVault is enabled, two accounts)
  • Random crashes after sleep
  • Random colors after sleep
  • Random freezes after sleep (screens blank, touch bar unresponsive to key presses, but hitting fn modifies touch bar, though still unresponsive)
  • Haphazard lagginess across the entire OS. A video will play back for 20 seconds, freeze for a second, and then resume for another 20 seconds. Or you might be scrolling, the scroll will freeze for a second, and then resume. You might be selecting text, the movement will freeze, and then resume. Or you might get a notification popup that will freeze halfway through its animation, and then be completely extended a second later. This affects all applications and the entire OS
  • Forgetting touch ID fingerprints (usually after crash)
  • Cannot recognize any ethernet/USB-C connectors
  • Keeps "recognizing" various network interfaces such as when plugging in iPhone or ethernet/usb adapter, but they never show up in network preferences
  • USB-C charging cable loose (least of my problems)
  • Yubikey working only in subset of USB-C ports

iPhone Annoyances

  • Randomly freezes whenever using apps that access GPS
  • Screen recordings randomly stop working (recorded video is all black). Only solution is a reboot
  • Random app freezes that gradually deteriorate. E. g. at first the app is just blank, but can be left. Then, when inside the app, the switcher stops being accessible. Then, when trying to open an app from a notification, that also stops working. And then even the notification center freezes, and after that, the lock button finally stops working, too.
