July'18: Alaska Itinerary

Thu 7/19

• Fly SEA-ANC: 9PM - 11:45 PM (3.5 hours)
• Hotel: Anchorage: Alex Hotel and Suites near the airport

Fri 7/20

• Alaska Railroad: Train to Whittier: 9AM : Glacier Discovery

• Cruise (at 12:30PM) to Glacier and Wildlife cruise

• Reach Anchorage back by 9:45PM

Sat 7/21

• Get car: ANC Enterprise SUV at 8AM
• Reach Denali: 4-5 hours
• Denali Wilderness Access Center
• Denali LakeView Inn: Swan room

Sun 7/22

• Denali: Bus tour
  • From WAC to Eielson Center (66 miles): roundtrip 8 hours
  • 8AM - 5PM

Mon 7/23

• Savage River Hiking

• Drive to Talkeetna (3 hours)
• Bill/Grace Talkeetna B&B: cabin with deck

Tue 7/24

• Drive back to ANC via Talkeetna

  • Talkeetna is one of the best places to see Mt. Denali/McKinley (North America's tallest mountain)

• Drop car off at ANC by 5:3-PM

• Back to Seattle: 6:30PM - 11PM (3.5 hours)
