This is mostly just a dump of information on the D-Tector.
This is mostly just a dump of information on the D-Tector.
Source: http://lcd.withthewill.net/DTectorIntro
The D-Tector is the Bandai America, Asia and Europe equivalent to the Bandai Japan D-Scanner. Unlike the D-Scanner, the D-Tector does not scan barcodes. It instead relies on a motion sensor to input commands in battle. It is also a pedometer-type device and the player must either shake it or walk with it to encounter various events.
Instead of having a Digimon on the main screen, you play with one of the main characters of the Digimon Frontier anime. (Kouichi is not available in the Version 1 but is available from the start in the Version 2.)
The uppermost button on the front of the device is the C button, which cancels your selection or returns to the previous menu. The bottom right button is the B button, which confirms selections and displays the status of your Chosen Child. The lower left button is the A button, and it is used to scroll through selections. The large button on the side is the motion sensor button and is used to switch between the two menus and activate the motion sensor.
There are two main menus. The first menu is accessed by pressing the side button. The second is accessed by pressing the side button while on the first menu.
Note: This guide was written with a Version 1 and Version 2 D-Tector. Other versions may vary.
First Menu:
Map: Allows you to see how many steps you have left in a particular area as well as move to another area.
Status: Checks the status of your Chosen Children. Select a character to check his or her stats.
Spirits: Checks the status of your Spirits and the Digimon they allow your Chosen to evolve into.
Camp: Heal wounds after a battle. Steps (or shakes) taken while in Camp Mode will not count.
Connect
V.S Battle: Battle with a compatible device. Shake to power up your Digimon.
Trade: Trade Digimon with another D-Tector. Select “Data Out” if you will be sending a Digimon and “Data In” if you will be receiving a Digimon.
Second Menu:
Digi-Database: Allows you to review the Digimon you have befriended and put them in the D-Docks for battle. You may review the Digimon’s stats by pressing B. To place the Digimon in a D-Dock, press B again on its status screen, then select your D-Dock. There are four D-Docks in all. If you do not have any Digimon in your D-Docks, a weak Digimon will automatically be summoned in battle. (Numemon in the Version 1, Bokomon in the Version 2.)
Digi-Digits: Allows you to input a special code from the D-Tector Card Game in order to unlock a specific Digimon. Use A to scroll through the letters, B to confirm, and C to back out of the screen.
Game: "Practice" in the Version 1--only the training minigame is available.
Training: Allows you to practice for battle. A Digimon will be summoned, and you will be given a specific attack type. Use the motion sensor to command the Digimon. To use the motion sensor, press the motion sensor button when prompted. The LED light will flash three times. The first time just lets you know that the motion sensor is active, but the second and third times determine which attack you will use. On the following, a 1 means to wave your hand (or otherwise trigger the sensor) over the sensor, and a 0 means to leave it alone.
Energy Attack: 1, 1
Ability Attack: 0, 1
Crush Attack: 0, 0
If you fail to properly signal, the attack will fail.
Bubble Wars: (VERSION 2 ONLY) Shooting game in which the player pops bubbles. Press A to move down, B to move up, the motion sensor button to fire, and C to quit. You cannot break black bubbles.
Digi-Searcher: Use the motion sensor to trigger various events. (Though the device itself implies that you must hold the D-Tector up to a TV for this, you don’t need to. It just triggers the motion sensor.) Events will be the same as ordinary events you experience while walking. You may also find items.
Events While Walking
Data Storm: May blow you away to another area of the map or take team members or Spirits away. Press the B button rapidly to escape.
Battle: Battling brings you to this menu:
Battle Call: Summons one of the Digimon in your D-Docks, using the same motion sensor technique as the training game. If you make a mistake or do not have any Digimon in your D-Docks, Bokomon will automatically be summoned.
D-Dock 1: 1,1
D-Dock 2: 0,1
D-Dock 3: 1,0
D-Dock 4: 0,0
Spirit On: Equips one of your Chosen Children with a Spirit, allowing you to use a Hybrid Digimon. This is not possible if you do not have enough DP. Spirits may only be used if you have their respective Chosen Children in your party. For example, if you have the H-Spirit of Fire but do not have Takuya in your party, you may not use the H-Spirit of Fire. Spirit Digimon may choose which attack type they wish to use. They may also use “Digi-Power” if you have enough DP. When you select this option, you will be prompted to summon a Digimon from the D-Docks. This Digimon’s power will be added to the Spirit Digimon’s.
Digi-Digits: Input Digi-Digits to automatically summon a Digimon without using the D-Docks. The Digimon’s data will be saved to your Digi-Database after the battle
Escape: Run away from the fight.
After you have summoned a Digimon from the D-Docks or Spirit Evolved, the following options will be added:
Attack: Select your attack using the same method outlined in the training game. If the Digimon you are using has too high a level, it may not listen to your commands.
Evolve: Evolve your Digimon if you have unlocked its evolution. Evolution is linear and only follows anime-accurate lines. For example, Agumon may only evolve to Greymon, who may only evolve to MetalGreymon, who may only evolve to WarGreymon.
Deport: Return Digimon to its D-Dock

My guide on D-tector v-pet
This is my guide on the Bandai D-tector. This will be my first guide but i have a very good knowledge on the D-tector games so i would like to share some knowledge with you all and save you time.
Step 1: Determining which version D-tector you have or thinking of buying.
Bandai released 4 versions of the D-tector pedometer style v-pet each having a significant difference to each other. Heres how to know which one you have if you didnt buy one in a box.
Version 1
Appearance differences: Solid colors. Original D-tector colors of the actual anime. (they will look exactly like the ones on the anime) Also Takuyas and Kojis advanced D-tectors.
Game play differences: You will start off with all 5 of the digi destined Kouchi will not be obtained until beating the game one time.
Digimon differences: The fusion spirits will only include the ones in the anime (Aldamon and Beowulfmon) The other characters fusions are not obtainable. Only 5 Ancient digimon will be available to put in your D-dock. AlsoKaisergreymon and Magnagarurumon are not available and Imperialdramon PM is not available.
Version 2
Appearance differences: Transparent body but the grip will remain the same colors as the digi destined.
Game play differences: You will start with all 6 digi destined. Also some digimon and spirits will have to be obtained through quest.
Digimon differences: All 6 fusion spirits will be obtained after beating Mercurymon/Sephirothmon. All 10 Ancient digimon will be obtainable. And Kaisergreymon and Magnagarurumon are available. Susanoomon and Imperialdramon PM are currently still under investigation by me
Version 3
Appearance differences: There are only 2 version 3's. Red body with black grip and gold circle instead of the classical hexagon screen. Purpleish body with pink grip and green circle screen.
Game play differences: Same as version 2 except that you can enter the codes of some spirit and mega digimon without getting an error message. Digimon differences: Same as version 2
Version 4
Appearance differences: There are 3. Red body with gold grip and gold circle screen with some blue on the top right. White body with red grip and golden circle screen. White body with blue grip and golden circle screen.
Game play differences: The final final boss will be Lucemon SM battling her 3 times.
Digimon differences: Same as version 3
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 2: How to play the game.
Controls
-The B button is the most right button on the front of the d-tector. You will use it to confirm selections. Also it is used to look at distance/steps, games won and victory percentage through digivice connection, current spirit power and your digimon in your D-Dock.
-The A button in the most bottom button on the front. It is used to scroll through selections and access your menu.
-The C button is the top button on the front. It is used to exit the menu.
-The side button is a motion detection button. It will be used to access your second menu and when prompt will be held down and make a motion to the top of your d-tector which is a light sensitive it will respond to a change of light so playing where the light cannot hit the motion square will make the motion unreadable.
First Menu
By pressing A you will access your menu you will able to see:
-Map. Each map will have an affinity to the spirit or corrupt spirit you will encounter. Also you will be able to see the train tracks in which the next 3 available maps will be offered to your choice. Used wisely and youll be able to make a lap around the digital world without going to the map you already went to.
-Status. You will be able to see the level of your character and other attributes that have no meaning at the point.
-Spirits. You will able to see which spirits you have and gained and the HP, energy damage, crush damage, and ability damage.
-Camp. When your main character on the screen is in a slumped position and cannot move you will have to use camp. Pressing B will stop it and you will be able to walk again. It is also used to regain spirit power (150 max) although it is very slow and an inconvenient way of doing so.
-Connect. If you have another digivice you can connect and battle or get digimon from other digivice.
Second Menu
By pressing B and than the side button or the side button twice you will be able to see:
-Digi-data base. This is the digimon you have obtained through battle or entering a code. By selecting one with B you can put it in your Digi-dock to use in battle.
-Digi-Digits. Enter a 5 letter and number code to obtain digimon to put in your digi-data base to use for battle. You can also obtain spirits and rare digimon depending on what version d-tector you have.
-Game. There are 2 mini games that help you out.
-Training (version 1 ONLY)/Scanning action (version 2+) In this game you will go against a box. The game will tell you which attack you need to do and when prompt you must execute that attack with the motion sensor.
Energy: 3 motion required
Crush: 1 motion, no motion, than another motion
Ability 1 motion, 1 motion, no motion
Rewards include: Increase of distance from a train (300). Decrease distance to train (500). A new digimon or spirit. (if you havent encountered the ancient digimon yet in version 2 it wont allow you to obtain it). Plus 10 in spirit power. Empty
Failure will: Increase of distance from a train (300). Takes away digimon who failed. Empty.
-Bubbles. Bubbles is a game where you press the B button to move up A button to move down and side button to shoot. Your objective is to shoot bubbles to regain spirit power. The amount you gain will be the number you get and then minus the 0 ie: 420=42. If you have 150 spirit power the amount you get will be deducted to your distance. Very useful if you got the spirit on the map and want to move to the train.
-Digi-searcher. Scan a tv and you will encounter anything you would while walking. You can also get items that increase your level or add spirit power.
Third Menu
By pressing the B button you will be able to see:
-Distance left and steps taken
-Victory percentage and battles won using the connect system with other digivice.
-Spirits power. Amount of spirit power available to use attacks using the 20 legendary spirits.
-D-Docks 1-4. Digimon assigned to each d-dock will be available for battle.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 3: Walkthrough!
Now that we know the controls lets get into actually playing. Game Part 1. This section will involve the objective of the game and how to battle to the best of your ability.
Game part 1:
The objective of this game is to collect all 20 legendary spirits encountered randomly by taking steps and reducing the amount of distance number on your side menu. Each affinity will have a human spirit and a beast spirit for you to battle and collect. When you get to 0 on the distance counter you will board a trailmon and go to the next affinity on the map. You can look and plan strategically by going into your map. While you are taking steps you may encounter a digimon. To battle the digimon you can either select a spirit to transform into by selecting "spirit on" or using a digimon on your battle dock by selecting "battle call" I suggest saving your spirit power for battling the spirits until you get high level.
You can also encounter a data storm. Data storms take away each party of your member or can blow you away to another affinity on the map. Theres no way to avoid disappearing party members but you can avoid being blown away to a different map by pressing the B button rapidly.
-Tips on Battling. The battles of this game is essentially a rock paper scissor game. Energy beats ability, ability beats crush and crush beats energy But if you look at your digimon status they will have a number next to the type of attack. If both digimon battling uses energy then the stronger number wins. If they are the same they tie and no damage is dealt. The way to foresee or lessen damage is to know the opponent stats. If you fight a digimon who you know has a 160 ability damage you will want to avoid being hit by it by using a energy user. Eventually youll remember which digimon is strong in what category.
- D-Dock Level. Your level will determine which digimon you can control during a fight. If you enter a code for a level 100 mega digimon right when the game starts and you give him a command he will not obey you. Digimon will only obey you if youre in 20ish of its level.
Game part 2:
Actual game walkthrough
After you have chosen your main digi destined you will see a scene where his/her human spirit battles with Cherubimon. You will then be on a map called Rose morning star. Walk until you encounter Cherubimon. You will lose no matter what so dont get upset. You will then see a scene where he takes all of your spirits. You will then be on a map that is the affinity of your main digi destined. I suggest you using digi codes right now to get at least one spirit but if you want to do it legit that is fine too. Now begins your quest of obtaining all the 20 spirits. Pretty straight forward so keep shaking until you have about 16.
Now that you have 16 spirits the next time you board a trailmon to another map (regardless if youve been to it before) the screen will glitch out and it will transport you to the Gold Map. This is the home of Mercurymon/Sephirothmon and is a map that you cant go to via trailmon. So walk until you encounter them. When you have you will obtain the fusion spirits! NOTE: Sometimes the game will make you get 16 or 18 spirits before you go here. After you beat him you have to walk a bit and trailmon will bring you back to the map you were suppose to go before the screen glitched
You should have 20 spirits now. if youre still on a regular map travel to the end of it and the trailmon will make you go to the map that says "?????" in the middle. This is the rose morning star map and you will fight 2 sides of Cherubimon after you beat him you will be able to get his angel mode. NOTE: GET HIM IF YOU WANT KAISERGREYMON AND MAGNAGARURUMON. After the battle you will board a trailmon but Crusadermon and Dynasmon will stop you and you will be on a map that is the moon. Walk until you encounter Crusadermon. and then Dynasmon. After you beat Dynasmon the game will end... or will it?
Game part 3:
This will include all the extra stuff you might want to do and fight the real boss lucemon (depending what version you have)
So you beat the game! New game + will keep your level, digimon in the database and the fusion spirits. Start off like usual but this time you might want to pick up Serahpimon in the Dark map and Ophanimon in the Light or Ice map. (most likely in light but if not go to ice) They will only encounter you if you have 18 spirits and level 60+. After you got those 2 proceed to the rose morning star. Enter the codes for Kaisergreymon and Magnagarurumon and you will obtain them without error code!
Susanoomon and Imperialdramon TO BE CONTINUED

OK! Here's my post about our D-Tectors, since they seem to be different from the ones listed on File Island. If it is not, I'd like someone to correct me.
First of all, mine is supposed to be a V2. I'll try to buy one that should be a V1 by May. EDIT: Just got a V1! However, and since it's in mint condition, I'll set this for selling instead of playing.
[Pics will be provided]
Starting out
- You can't choose Koichi
- Map has 4 big 'Map' areas, each one with 3 small 'Area'. Bosses are the rest of the Ten Warriors plus Azulongmon, Zhuqiaomon, Ebonwumon and Baihumon.
- After you beat all 12 'Area' (labeled with numbers), you get to see a scene and you appear at 'Map 5', 'Area 13'.
- The boss at that area is Duskmon, who becomes Velgemon without a rest between battles. After that, you appear at an unknown area, with just 50 Steps until Boss Fight.
- Final Boss: AncientSphinxmon
Koichi appears, everyone's happy and everyone gets into the train. You get to choose a children again, and here comes...
Second round
- You can choose Koichi now. You also have his two spirits.
- Area 13's Boss is Kerpymon. After that, you appear again at that unknown area to fight against Lucemon (Child)
- After you defeat Lucemon, you don't get a Digimon or a Spirit as a reward. Instead, you watch him going down, surrounded by an aura.
[Can't remember the ones in italic, but I'm 8000 steps away from that so I'll edit it if necessary]
And you start once again.
Minor differences
- You have two games: Scanning Action and Speed Runner.
- You can only use 6 Ancient Spirits, the ones that goes with each children. [Not sure if this is a difference]
- You can't get Aldamon neither Beowulfmon. Not to talk about KaiserGreymon or MagnaGarurumon, or Susanoomon. [Not sure if this is a difference]

Disable sound
To disable sound, press the two buttons at the bottom of the Digivice simultaneously.
Hint: Diabloriamon
Complete the entire game and you will get Koiji. Start over with him, then, at the final level, use his spirit, KaiserLeomon. You have to lose this match and continue to lose until you only have KaiserLeomon remaining as your spirit. Fight him once more and lose KaiserLeomon. Then, fight him again. Instead, go to Digi-Digits then enter G08F4. It will show a blurry Digimon. This will defeat the final boss in one hit. You will get all your spirits back, the secret Digimon Diabloriamon, and will be able to play as Digimon. It will show all the people again at the start, but the screen says "Digi-Database" and "Pick a Digimon".
Hint: HoppingRockmon
To get the secret character, Hoppingrockmon, you must do the following, in order:
Complete the game and start with Koiji.
Reach the final boss again, then enter the code 4CCYX before fighting the final boss. This will give you a normal Rockmon
Fight the final boss. Normally, Digimon cannot hurt the final boss, but this Rockmon can, so use it in the battle with the final boss.
Select "Digivolve". The Rockmon will digivolve into HoppingRockmon (a black Rockmon). All his attacks have to do with jumping.
The game will automatically restart (this is likelt yo be a glitch). You will have all of your stats, etc. in tact, but you will get a new ultimate Digimon - HoppingRockmon.
HoppingRockmon's stats are as follows:
HP: 150
Energy: 60
Crush: 100
Ability: 5
Once you have HoppingRockmon, he will now have a code (F2JK7). Note: The F2JK7 code will only work once you get the HoppingRockmon.
Hint: Escape Data Storm
To escape a Data Storm, press pressing B and shake.
Hint: Speed Runner
When starting Speed Runner, you can hold the Side Button to slow you down so that it is easier, but you will not get as many points. Hold it when it becomes fast, but when you have one rectangle (at the left side). Do not cheat.
Hint: Restore Spirit Energy
When you are out of Spirit Energy, go to camp mode, then leave it for a half hour, but keep shaking. Your Spirit Energy will be back to 99.
Hint: New Spirits
To get new spirits, you have to defeat a boss. Play the speeder game to get your distance down to 1 and a boss will challenge you. Defeat the boss to receive a spirit.
Hint: Spirits
To be able to use certain spirits, you must have a friend with you. He will then transform into a Spirit Digimon.
Hint: Easy escape from Data Storm
To easily escape from a Data Storm, wait until the first victim of the Sand Storm appears. If it is your person (the one selected when starting the Digivice), then you can just watch him run. No matter what, your person will always escape the Data Storm, but only if you are the first victim of the Data Storm.
Hint: Easy connect battle wins
For easy wins, press A, B, then C repeatedly until you win.
Hint: Scanning Action
This is named "Practice" on the version 1 D-Tector. The Scanning Action mini-game requires you to enter in a motion sensor code in order to correlate your Digimon's attacks to play the weaknesses of the Digi-box. When you start the game, it will show the Digi-box, then it will summon a random Digimon from one of your four D-Docks. The attack needed to destroy the box will flash next (Ability, Energy, Crush). You must enter the motion sensor code by using the D-Tector's motion sensor to correspond with the attack needed (motion means that you must activate the motion sensor on the LED pulse, and LED pulse means that you must not enter any motions):
Ability: Two motions, one led pulse
Crush: One motion, one led pulse, one motion
Energy: Three motions
Random: One motion, two led pulses
If you succeed in destroying the box, the result will yield one of the following:
Distance Reduction (500 steps)
Distance Increase (300 steps)
Spirit Power (10 powers)
Random Digimon
Empty (no reward)
If you fail in destroying the box, the penalty will yield one of the following:
Distance Increase (300 steps)
Digimon Confiscation (the Digimon that attacked will be taken away)
No Penalty
Hint: Digi-Searcher
The Digi-Searcher enables you to use the D-Tector's motion sensor to scan a television, or any other object, to activate a random event. To use the Digi-Searcher, hold up your D-Tector about 2.5 cm (about 1 inch) from the object you wish to scan. Hold the Motion Sensor Button. Using the Digi-Searcher might yield one of the following results:
Error (you must try again)
Enemy Digimon Battle
Random Digimon
Data Storm
Spirit (one you don't have or lost in battle)
Distance Reduction (500 steps)
Distance Increase (300 steps)
Spirit Power (10 powers)
