Exercise 1

• write on post-its what you value most in a potential employer / work environment separated into three different personas.
  • As a member of the company I value:
  • As a member of a team I value:
  • As an individual worker I value:
• group these into a small set of high level values
• discard the individual post-its

Exercise 2

• write on different colour post-its what you bring to a company
  • the company values me for:
  • my team lead/manager values me for:
  • the team values me for:
• group them together into higher level categories.
• discard the individual post-its

Exercise 3

Write your ultimate job description using the high level notes from above.

Exercise 4

Write out a few career goals / milestones you want to achieve in the next 1-2 years.

Exercise 5

Identify a group of companies you would like to work at. Ones that you feel would suit what it is you want to achieve.

Excercise 6

Draft introductory letters to send to the above companies along with your resume. Do not wait for the jobs to be advertised.
