Software Deliverables:

  • Create prototype FHIR-based API updating and searching NPI Provider data.
  • The API shall incorporate oAuth2 for authentication
  • Create are-usable library/API for validating the FHIR Practitioner and Organization Resource
  • Create a functioning prototype for Medical license verfication
  • Create a functioning prototype for QHP "plan providers" directory. Base off same architecture.

Documentaion Deliverables:

  • Outline pros and cons of creating a federated provider directory
  • Outline technial approach pros and cons
  • Document outlining the logistics of how a medical license verfication systems could work.
  • Document outlining the logistics of how a federated QHP directory could work.

As discussed last week, these look good. I wonder if there are any real state license databases that would support queries? Perhaps should reach out to some vendors on that, there are a few that specialize in this. They typically do all sorts of licensure. DC
