  4. Individually slack your partners the link of the gist you filled out for them
  5. Spend some time reviewing your partner’s feedback that they sent you

Why are we talking about empathy at a software development school? how can you develop the "skill" of empathy? and why should you care?

  • The reason we talk so much about empathy at a software development school is simple. Turing is not just a software development school. From the short time I have been exposed to Turing I have seen the way the instructors genuinely care about the well being and success of the students. Because at the end of they day we are all struggling together and making mistakes and it can be difficult to admit to needing help or making mistakes. Developing empathy is easier than you think, being put in a similar situation of struggle can create bonds between people. And that is why you should care about needing empathy. Because it can bring people together, or more importantly. It can help you indentify when someone else is struggling more than you.
