Attaching Notepad++ to git commit editor.
git config core.editor "'C:\Program Files (x86)\Notepad++\notepad++.exe' -multiInst -notabbar -nosession -noPlugin"

If you use session backups, you may want to follow the advice at the bottom of this thread about the nosession flag messing up the main instance of notepad++

Probably too late but if you are running a 64bit version, I would say you run this:
$ git config --global core.editor "'C:/Program Files/Notepad++/notepad++.exe' -multiInst -nosession"

Thanks man! After one hour of googling why git bash won't open my notepadd++ your comands finaly helped me, and even I maked a accont specialy to thank you :) hope you have a good day!
