i did all of the steps you wrote but the program does not recognize the clickshare button. The button is not blinking constantly.
What i have to do next?

i am using ubuntu mate 17.10

tried this on 18.04 with latest updates without success. Anyone tried this on an updated 16.04/18.04? The package was successfully installed and i can launch the clickshare app but nothing happens when i plug the usb dongle. It just blinks. Any suggestions?

installation worked fine.
But now I get another error.
Once I open the clickshare app I get the message "waiting for clickshare button. When I plug the clickshare button into my usb port and press the button on the clickshare device, I get the message: "all buttons are in use by another application"

I've got no other application open.

Any suggestions?

Having the same symptoms as described by foot3print and Peter-Nijenhuis (deb and dependencies installed and dongle just blinking and on first launch of app msg "Waiting for button..."). Someone managed to get this working ?

Same issue too. On the app window, Clickshare Client is the only one the version number is checked. The rest keeps syncing. Any solutions?

Works in Ubuntu 18.10. Simply followed the instructions, nothing more.

I tried it on Ubuntu 16.04 - installs and runs but doesn't appear to recognise the USB dongle.
Dongle flashes white, on and off - but no amount of pressing the button seems to do anthing

I have the same Problem as njohnsto58, the only difference is I tried it on ubuntu 18.04.

Same problem here as aseru65: the dongle keeps on blinking, the client keeps on checking for updates. I am on Xubuntu 18.04. Also, when I connect the dongle, Xubuntu mounts it as a drive. Doesn't that conflict with using the device as something else than a drive? When I unmount the drive, the dongle keeps on blinking.

Do I even need the clickshare button when using this method? Can't I just connect directly to the projector's Wifi and project without the USB dongle?

Install
libavutil52_9.20
libswscale2_9.20

sudo apt install gdebi
sudo gdebi clickshare_01.07.01-79_amd64.deb

On running Clickshare I saw
Gtk-Message: 08:48:02.071: Failed to load module "overlay-scrollbar"
Gtk-Message: 08:48:02.086: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"

So install
sudo apt install libcanberra-gtk-module libcanberra-gtk3-module

After that i could share my screen with clickshare

Can someone share the clickshare deb package again?

I am also desperate for this. Another solution could be using chrome/chromium to cast via chromecast to the clickshare unit.
But I didn't get this to work either.
