MODified by Kai Gillmann, 19.01.2013, kaigillmann@googlemail.com:
VLC HAS already a youtube importer, but not for playlists. IMO this mentioned one is
better than this one, because it opens the video in the best possible video resolution.
So i decided to remove all parts of the code which is not responsible for list handling.
Now this lua script parses the list, as wanted, but for each video opened, the vlc default
Youtube script is used, so the videos will be displayed properly.

Hi. Thanks for your effort. I've tried this just now and managed to get it installed on my Debian install. However, only the first video in the playlist will play.
version of VLC is 3.0.12.1 Vetinary -- installed via Snap.

I'm not entirely certain the problem actually lies in the script as the "PL=" field seems to change completely for each video on the playlist on my browser.

edit: on closer inspection... it's not actually the "PL=" field that changes but the block right before it -- seems to auto-generate random characters right before "list=PL...". in any case that makes the url completely different for each video.

Thanks again.

Does not work using 3.0.12.1 (32-bit works but does not get every track in the playlist!)

access error: HTTP 404 error
http error: local stream 1 error: Cancellation (0x8)
http error: local stream 1 error: Stream closed (0x5)
http error: local stream 1 error: Stream closed (0x5)
main error: no suitable access module for insertyoutubeplaylisthere (ALL yt playlists return this. It doesn't matter if I included the actual URL.)

Hey its only loading 15 tracks of a 69 track playlist. Im using vlc 3.0.12 portable cause this plugin wont work on newest version. Anyone know how to make it load all tracks in playlist?

Hi, I worked on a version that use the code source of the playlist to extract the data (I use the ytInitialData from javascript to get the data), it works with /watch?v=XXX&list=XXXX and /playlist?list=XXXX urls and I want to add support of music.youtube.com/watch?list=XXX and music.youtube.com/playlist?list=XXX.

WARNING: if Youtube update there code, my parser will not work any more and will need an update.
