SWDeliverable

Hi Katrin,

Over the past few weeks we've made great progress in designing and implementing the data overview site. The deliverable below includes:

  • New design of the overview landing page based (without country pages)
  • Four interactive visualizations linked to current database.
  • [ backend stuff ]
  • [ backend stuff ]

Design

We created a new data overview site that is ready to be incorporated into Evidence Action's existing site. The goal of the site is to bring to light the key performance indicators of Dispensers for Safe Water project through data visualizations and a narrative framework.

Access

The stacked area chart shows the total number of people served, while the growth of the installed dispensers is shown on the map. The play button triggers both of these interactive pieces and the slider allows the user to further explore the data.

Usage

This line chart shows the average adoption rate overtime of all the dispenser locations. Less than 30% is highlighted and over 60% is also highlighted to give context as to what is an excellent rate and what is a poor rate as might be described in the text.

Reliability

The first chart shows the percentage of functional dispensers versus dispensers with reported outages. The second chart supplements by showing the breakdown of those outages by hardware and chlorine.

Carbon

This stacked area chart shows the total number of carbon credits generated overtime.

Backend Framework?

Integration

Before our handoff date on the 30th, we wanted to clarify some remaining questions to ensure a smooth transition on that day.

  • What type of statistics would you like to showcase in the top header? We think this is an important section to show your users the significant growth in your work and wanted to know what numbers you think would best represent your current work.
  • Is there a specific site title we should be using?
  • Any legal information you'd like to include in the bottom footer or link to an email for people to ask questions?
  • Any text on privacy policy or legal disclaimers?
  • Do you want to include any graphic social media links in the footer?
  • Do you need your logo present somewhere in the site?

Next Steps

As we near the end of our project timeline, we're looking to finish the rest of the country pages and updating minor stylistic changes in the next week.

** We'll be looking for copy feedback from your team by Tuesday (3/22) so that we can include your text in the final delivery.**

We'd also like to get your team's confirmation on the displayed visualizatoins and any other minor stylistic elements of the site. Please note that we're looking for confirmation on status and any major revisions or additions to the site would require us to revisit budget and timelines if we deem it necessary.

We welcome any questions you may have and we're happy to jump on a call to clarify anything for you.
