Dammit Boy

Texas Hold'em except that one extra card dealt to each player on the deal and per flop. Players must discard a card from their hand each round so that they have only two cards before betting.

Rules

  1. Deal three cards face down to each player. Each player discards a card from their hand and there's a round of betting.
  2. Deal three community cards face up in the middle of the table and one card dealt face down to each player. Each player discards a card from their hand and there's another round of betting.
  3. Deal a fourth community card face up in the middle of the table and one to each player. Each player discards a card and there's a betting round.
  4. Deal a fifth community card face up in the middle of the table and one to each player. Each player discards a card and there's a final betting round.
  5. At showdown, the best 5-card hand, comprised of any combination of community and hole cards, wins.

Variations

  • Players must discard prior to the community card being dealt
  • Players do not discard on the final round
  • Players do not discard on the initial deal

Happy Days

Rules

  1. Deal a row of three cards face-up in the middle of the table. Then deal two cards face-down to each player. Conduct a round of betting.
  2. Starting with the player left of the dealer, each player chooses to be dealt a card face-down or to take one card of their choice from the row of cards in the middle of the table. Whenever a card is taken from the row, it remains face-up as part of that player's hand, and the dealer immediately replaces it with another card face-up to ensure the row has three cards. Once all players have made their choices, every player has three cards; conduct a round of betting.
  3. Repeat the process of each player choosing between being dealt a face-down card or taking a card from the board, followed by a round of betting. Continue this process until every player receives five cards.
  4. At showdown, the best hand wins.

Variations

  • The dealer deals all cards face up after the first round of betting.
  • Add additional deals and betting rounds until players' hands contain seven cards.
  • The initial two cards given to each player are dealt so that the first is face down and the second is face up.
  • The player with the highest hand showing gets the first choice for each round.
  • The player with the lowest hand showing gets the first choice for each round.

Spinning Wheel

Rules

  1. Deal each player seven cards; the first three face-down and the remaining four-face up. Conduct a round of betting.
  2. Starting with the player to the left of the dealer, each player passes one face-up card of his choosing to the player to his left. Once all players have passed a card, conduct another round of betting.
  3. Repeat the card passing process, followed by a third round of betting.
  4. Repeat the card passing process on more time, followed by a fourth and final round of betting.
  5. At showdown, best 5-card hand wins.

Variations

  • Instead of getting all seven cards at once, the initial deal is three cards face-down and one card face-up. Deal a face-up card immediately after every betting round before players have to pass cards.
  • Instead of getting all seven cards at once, the initial deal is two cards face-down and two cards face-up.
  • Players pass cards to the player on their right.
  • The initial deal is two cards face-down and five cards face-up.
  • Instead of choosing which card to pass, players choose which card is passed to them.

Crazy Eights Stud

8-card stud where 8s are wild.

Rules

  1. Deal two cards face-down to each player. Conduct a betting round.
  2. Deal two cards face-up to each player. Conduct a betting round.
  3. Deal two cards face-up to each player. Conduct a betting round.
  4. Deal two cards face-down each player. Conduct a final betting round.
  5. At showdown, best 5-card hand wins. Eights are wild.

Variations

  • Every deal is one card face-down and one card face-up.
  • The final deal is one card face-down and one card face-up.

Crazy Eights Hold 'em

Omaha hold 'em but with only eight cards, in total, used to make hands. Eights are wild.

Rules

  1. Deal two cards face-down to each player. Conduct a betting round.
  2. Deal two cards face-up to the board. These are community cards.
  3. Deal two community cards face-up to the board.
  4. Deal two cards face-down to each player. Conduct a final betting round.
  5. At showdown, the best 5-card hand made up of at least two hole and community card wins.

Variations

  • Final deal is one card face-down to each player and one community card face-up to the board.
  • Whenever an 8 is dealt to the board, the dealer immediately removes it from the board and deals two new cards in its place. This process is repeated so that no eight cards appear in the board.

High Noon (5 Card)

Rules

  1. Deal five cards face-down to each player. Conduct a betting round.
  2. Starting with the player left of the dealer, each player reveals one card from his hand by turning it face-up. Once every player in the game has revealed a card, conduct a betting round.
  3. As in the previous round, each player reveals one card from his hand by turning it face-up, starting with the player to the left of the dealer. Conduct another betting round.

  • Players reveal cards simultaneously.
  • One fewer betting round; only three cards are revealed prior to showown.
  • Whenever a player reveals a pair of Aces, he instantly wins the pot.

High Noon (7 Card)

Rules

  1. Deal seven cards face-down to each player. Conduct a betting round.
  2. Starting with the player left of the dealer, each player reveals one card from his hand by turning it face-up. Once every player in the game has revealed a card, conduct a betting round.
  3. As in the previous round, each player reveals one card from his hand by turning it face-up, starting with the player to the left of the dealer. Conduct another betting round.
  4. Repeat the process of revealing cards and betting until four cards are face-up and three cards are face-down.
  5. At showdown, best 5-card hand wins.

Variations

  • Players reveal cards simultaneously.
  • Players reveal two cards for the first reveal round and one card each round thereafter.
  • One additional betting round; players reveal 5 cards, in total, before showdown.
  • Whenever a player reveals a pair of Aces, he instantly wins the pot.

"Breathe"

Rules

  1. Deal two cards face-up in the middle of the table. These cards are called "The Lung" and they are community cards. Whenever a player folds, he must put one card from his hand face-up into the Lung.
  2. Deal one card face-down to each player. Conduct a round of betting.
  3. Deal one card face-down to each player. Conduct another round of betting.
  4. Continue betting and dealing until every player has four cards in their hand; conduct a final round of betting.
  5. At showdown, the best 5-card hand containing any combination of hole cards and cards from the Lung.

Variations

  • The Lung contains only one card initially.
  • There are always four cards in the Lung. Whenever a player folds, he places one card from his hand into the Lung and removes a different card from the Lung.
  • The Lung contains only one card. Whenever a player folds, he replaces the card in the Lung with another from his hand. Whatever card is in the Lung is wild.

"Time"

Rules

  1. Deal five cards face-up in the middle of the table. These cards are called "The Clock" and they are community cards. Whenever a player folds, he must remove a card of his choice from the Clock (provided there are any cards remaining in the Clock).
  2. Play proceeds like 5 Card Stud. Deal one card face-down to each player. Conduct a round of betting.
  3. Deal one card face-up to each player. Conduct a round a betting.
  4. Continue dealing cards face-up and betting until every player has five cards in their hand, one face-down and the rest face-up.
  5. At showndown, best hand comprising any combination of hole and community cards wins.

Variations

  • After dealing the Clock, play proceeds like 7 Card Stud. Best 5-card hand consisting of hand or community cards wins.
  • The Clock contains X - 2 cards, initially, where X is the number of players.

"Money"

Rules

Play is exactly like seven card stud (initial deal of 2 cards face-down and 1 card face-up, additional rounds with 1 card dealt face-up, seventh card dealt face-down) but with these stipulations:

  • 5s and/or 10s are wild. If at the showdown there are more 10s than 5s showing, 10s are wild. If there are more 5s than 10s showing, 5s are wild. If there is an equal number of 5s and 10s, both are wild. Hole cards do not count towards the tallies.
  • When a player is dealt a 5 or 10 face-up, he gets an additional card face-up.
