Governments, institutions, and organizations across the globe are making their data and information available for free use, reuse, and redisribution. Data related to topics ranging from government spending to scientific research, and from transportation to sustainability is now freely available for anyone to use without any restrictions. Open data is beginning to have a profound effect on our society - making our governments more transparent, driving new businesses and services that deliver new social and commercial value, and empowering citizens with new channels for civic engagement. At TuvaLabs, we envision that the open data revolution, married with the widespread adoption of technology tools for learning, has created unique opportunities for meaningful teaching, learning, sharing, and discovery.</p>
<p style="padding-left:20px; padding-top: 5px; line-height:23px;">We are on a mission to make open data useful for teaching and learning by offering teachers, students, and parents a platform to analyze, visualize, and interpret real data around issues relevant to their communities and their interests. We believe that analyzing data, spotting patterns, and extracting useful information have become gateway skills for future STEM jobs, to full participation in the workforce, and civic engagement in 21st century. <p style="padding-top:0px"></p><p>Harshil envisions a world in which we are empowered with the tools to learn as life unfolds around us. Trained as a physicist and an engineer, Harshil taught math, english, statistics, and physics to learners of all ages. Before launching TuvaLabs, he spent two years in India bringing high quality, affordable solar lanterns to bottom of the pyramid, off-the-grid communities across the country.</p>
<p>Harshil received his BS in Engineering Physics from UIUC and MS in Financial Mathematics from NCSU.</p>

Karen has long-established education industry relationships in the U.K., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Greece, India, Hong Kong, Singapore, and several countries in South East Asia. Michael was the Vice President at NWEA for over 8 years, where his leadership helped create NWEA's amazing YoY growth during his tenure. Michael directed the development of the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) and subsequent products related to the curriculum, alignment to state standards and instructional material, data warehousing, and business intelligence products. </p>

<p> Prior to founding Naviance, Stephen was vice president of digital product development at Peterson’s, then a division of The Thomson Corporation (now Thomson Reuters), where he played a key role in transforming a traditional print publishing business into the premier on-line services company in the field of education information and admissions. Stephen has also served as a practitioner faculty member at The Johns Hopkins University where he taught graduate level coursework in marketing and technology.
