How to comment on a PDF of your manuscript

How to comment on a PDF of your manuscript

  1. If you haven't got it already, download and install the latest version of Adobe Reader.

  2. Open the PDF in Adobe Reader and select "Comment"

  3. Select the text you want to comment on, and then click the highlight tool.

    This also works in the reverse order: you can click the tool first and then select the text.

  4. Double-click the highlighted area, and then enter your comment or instruction in the box.

  5. Repeat until done.

An alternative way to comment on the PDF is to write a list like this, being very clear about page, paragraph, and line numbers.

  • p.1, para 1, line 1: touched => glowed
  • p.26, para 11, line 3: Yes, they do actually say 'stat' at the hospital in Siem Reap.
