More great suggestions at Podcast Thing (thanks @maxtemkin!)

Public Radio Gems

  • Radiolab - Because obviously.
  • This American Life - The best storytellers on the radio.
  • On the Media - If this podcast doesn't make you more skeptical, you probably need a gullibotomy.

Tech

  • Edge Cases - Highly technical, lots of raw content.
  • Springboard - Cute, useful to me as someone interested in how people learn iOS.
  • Debug - Lots of interviews with ex-apple employees.
  • Critical Path - Fundamental to understanding how Apple and modern businesses operate.

Mental Cooldown

  • Escape Pod - Small Sci-Fi stories, quality varies but nice for a long walk where you want your mind to wonder.
  • Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality - I always read the book fast, this forces me to slow down and really think.
  • 99% Invisible - Architecture & Design, with some of the best sound design of any podcast I listen to.
  • Like I'm an Idiot - Exactly what it sounds like. Hilarious.

History / life

  • Common Sense with Dan Carlin - Once he'd have been called paranoid, now he's mostly right.
  • Hardcore History - The most compelling history lessons ever. Totally rekindled my desire to know the past.
  • Backstory - 3 people corrosponding to 3 centuries discuss a topic from their prospectives, nice.
  • The History of England - A bit like Backstory but based from before America existed.
  • Decode DC - Exactly what it sounds like. Excellent reporting.

Law

  • Running from the Law - My lawyer Gabe, talking about the two things he loves most with Erika Hall.
  • Life of the Law - Like 99%i, but for law. Listen to the episode on League of Legends

Security

  • Citizen Reporter - A more formal version of common sense above
  • Defensive Security - Technical, and a lot goes over my head, but that's how you start on anything
