Java and I

My only Java code running in production is a relatively small, 
single-purpose servlet developed a few months ago.  Professionally 
speaking, my background is MS dev tools (I'm an MCSD.)  As a 
hobbyist, I've followed Java since picking up the first edition of 
Eckel's "Thinking in Java" back in the day.  I run Eclipse Galileo 
for my Java fun.

Currently the time I spend on Java is dedicated to messing around 
with Android (I've been going through Reto Meier's Android 2 book) 
and studying for the SCJP.  I'm targeting late May for the latter.  
The reason for the SCJP is because my main (and, at the moment, 
only!) client is switching from a Windows dev shop to a Java shop, 
and he (the owner) is pushing for all his devs (in-house or otherwise) 
to get the SCJP as a form of validation to show prospective clients.  
Three of the six guys there have done the SCJP so far.  Being self-
employed, I don't get paid for the study time, so I've been a bit 
slower than the others.  (And I'm generally not that interested in 
certification, so motivation has been kinda low.)

That's Jave and I in a nutshell.  It's significance in my dev life 
is increasing.
