Paper Mario Master Quest v1.3.0.2 - Pit of 100 Trials Guide
This guide was written for 1.3.0.2.
Intended to be used with a brain, double-check moves when in a dire situation. This guide voids all complaints done while not double-checking something and dying and having to do the entire pit again, lmao.
Note: Best to download this file or click on "Raw" at the top right of this file to read it. Github Gists are a bit of a pain to read otherwise.

### F.A.Q. ###

Q: What version is this guide for?
A: 1.3.0.2 - You can try this on 1.5 but some BP are different so badge setups might not always work, though it generally should be fine. Enemy Stats are apparently different too? No clue, good luck ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Will update this when 2.0 comes out (not at release though, probably, lmao).
Q: Any prerequisites?
A: The guide expects the following:
- Got max level (50HP, 50FP, 30BP).
- Played until Star Haven to get unlimited Jelly Ultras.
- Ideally bought Heart Finder, Flower Finder, Happy Flower*2, Flower Saver & Flower Fanatic (last two & Happy Flowers are most important).
- Bought various badges from Rowf (too lazy to list them, but you can skip the ones that give a status effect and the gambler ones; best to get all others though).
- Got all badges from the pit (this is, unfortunately, the most important one here), so you need to reach F90 and then quit. Most fights will have an alternative though in the form of P-Up D-Down. Good luck if you didn't get them :D
Q: Do the items on every 10th floor reset?
A: Consumables like Ultra Shroom actually do, yeah. Badges and Star Pieces obviously don't though.
Q: How long will this take?
A: One run while playing it reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally safe took around 6h? I dunno, I didn't track time. But someone else did it casually in around 3h, so if you don't play it THIS safe then that's probably a reasonable time.
Q: How many attempts does it take?
A: Expect it to take at least a week. Maybe even closer to a month. Although realistically you can probably do it in a week with this guide, I had to figure it out myself after all, lol.

Could replace up to 2 additional Jelly Ultras with a Life Shroom, though I don't recommend it tbh.
Remember that the final fight on F100 requires basically 4 Jelly Ultras (one used before the fight).
It's best to reach floor 70 without using a single item (though losing a Life Shroom on the Albino Dino's wouldn't be a suprise, I suppose).
## In-Fight SP Abuse ##
- Have a couple Deep Focus & Group Focus equipped (Group Focus is better than Deep Focus since the partner can keep focusing while Mario's using an SP move)
- Have only one enemy left that deals 8 or less damage (ideally 5 or less). Note that with anything above 5 damage you should ideally have 2 Deep Focus & Group Focus equipped.
- Use the following moves:
- Smooch/Refresh, Focus with Partner
- Focus with Mario & Partner until Mario can use Smooch/Refresh again
- It's best to always prioritize HP over anything else, then fill Star Energy and FP is the last thing (just in case you get attacked so you can immediately use Smooch again)
## Fleeing SP Abuse ##
Inconcistent & risky as shit. Can be tried if you have at least 40HP though (or 20 but immediately using Smooch). Can replace a Defend Plus with 2 Happy Flower when it's rather safe to do so.
Badges: Dodge Master, 3xDeep Focus, Flower Saver, Flower Fanatic, 2xDefend Plus, Damage Dodge, P-Down D-Up

- Start fight (first strike is irrelevant, but NEVER first-strike Embers)

Defeat all but one enemy (preferrably Goomba or a Puff) -> bring last enemies HP down enough to kill them in one hit -> Use Focus & Refresh/Smooch to fully heal -> Once fully healed, take one more hit, then use Focus with Mario and kill the enemy with your partner (should dieally have ~45HP, 50FP, 7SP - SP is slightly more important than HP now)

Note: Basically requires 3 Jelly Ultras in the fight itself, plus one before. If you're really good and planned the fight out perfectly then 2 Jelly Ultras might be enough.
