NixOS vmware fushion config that non-root user can't move mouse cursor or click mouse buttons, but keyboard does work. With root mouse works fine.

Thanks to the awesome NixOS community someone fixed this and pointed me in the right direction and I got this to work(run VMWare Fushion on MacOS with NixOS VM and have the mouse work for non-root user when running Xorg Windows Manager).

Things to note in the fixed config.

  1. Add lib to https://gist.github.com/bobhenkel/fdd87fe38a60a38e8367722ac88db70d#file-configuration-issue-fixed-nix-L5
  2. Add lines https://gist.github.com/bobhenkel/fdd87fe38a60a38e8367722ac88db70d#file-configuration-issue-fixed-nix-L59 to https://gist.github.com/bobhenkel/fdd87fe38a60a38e8367722ac88db70d#file-configuration-issue-fixed-nix-L60
  3. nix-rebuild switch
  4. reboot
  5. login with non-root user and select a desktop manager that is Xorg like Gnome Xorg.
  6. Mouse should now work!
