Toaster instructions

Toaster - Toaster Industries T1000 Bread Scorching Device

Getting Started

To prepare your toast optimally, please proceed as follows. We advise you to read these instructions in their entirety before proceeding.

  • Plug in your toaster by inserting the three metal pronged plug attached to the end of the cable that protrudes from the body of the toaster into the power point. Please ensure that the power switch on the power point is switched to the off position to prevent any electrical discharge.

  • Your toaster will have the following parts attached to it:

    • Slide down handle on the side of the toaster. This is used to insert and remove the bread.
    • A numbered dial on the front of your toaster. This is used to adjust the amount of time spent cooking the toast. The speed at which the toast is cooked will not vary, that is, increasing the setting will increase the degree to which the toast is cooked, not the temperature used to cook it.
    • A button adjacent to the dial. This button is used to end the cooking procedure and eject the toast.
    • Two rectangular slots in the top of the toaster. These are used to insert bread.

Instructions

To cook toast:

  • Turn the power to the toaster on at the power point.
  • Place however many slices of bread you wish to toast (up to a maximum of 2, one slice of bread per slot), one each, into the rectangular slots in the top of the toaster.
  • Twist the dial to the desired cooking setting. This varies with the type of bread used and individual taste.
  • Press down the handle on the side of the toaster. The slices of bread should descend into the toaster. If they do not, press the eject button located next to the dial to end the cooking sequence and then check for obstructions or jams in the bread slots.
  • If this is the first time you are cooking your toast, make sure to check frequently (at least every 20 seconds) to make sure your toast is not burnt. If the toast appears to be cooked, press the eject button next to the dial and enjoy your toast. In future, you may decrease the cooking time.
  • When the toast is ready, the bread will pop up from the toaster and the handle on the side will rise with it.
  • Remove your toast from the toaster using your hands. NEVER use any form of conductive material (such as knife or tongs) to remove your toast. If necessary, wait until the toast cools down.
  • Power off your toaster at the power point.
