Hodlonaut interview notes

Let’s start by diving right into the LN Trust Chain story, then we’ll go back and talk about the beginning of your bitcoin journey.

(I’ll summarize the LNTC from my perspective for a min or two as an intro to this section.)

Can you describe the genesis of the torch? Describe the scene and some context - what were you thinking about that day?

Why did you give it to JDG (@fartface2000) first?

It begins to take a life of it’s own and then Matt O’Dell calls out Jack on Twitter and the torch becomes responsible for the best day bitcoin has had in well over a year and, when we eventually look back, may have signaled the transition to the next wave of price appreciated and user adoption.

You tweeted that you woke up to find that Jack had taken the torch and proceeded to hold court on Twitter in honor of king bitcoin - tell me about that moment.

Then the torch went through the Blockstream satellite system. I’m not sure I understand exactly how that worked? Can you describe how the lightning transaction was sent from Pavol Rusnak, the CTO of Satoshi Labs, makers of TREZOR to Samson Mow of Blockstream?

CZ of Binance and soon after Justin Sun of Tron held the torch and then he passed it to Erik Voorhees yesterday - you had a great troll of Erik today (read the tweet). There’s talk on Twitter of forking the torch before he or even CZ from Binance held the torch. Your thoughts?

What's the end game for the torch?

Ok, let’s head back in time to get into the beginning of your bitcoin. How did you discover bitcoin and what were your initial impressions?

Did you have a shitcoin phase?

Will you talk about your experience learning bitcoin up to this moment you describe in your pinned tweet, from Oct 26, 2018? https://twitter.com/hodlonaut/status/1055750452426477568 (I'll read the tweet)

Who was/is influential to your current understanding of bitcoin?

What have you learned about how to learn bitcoin?

Ok, last topic I want to get into with you is this recent discussion about small blocks. You’ve been active in the discussion, asking for more study, aggregation and presentation of arguments for and against and seem to be in the “keep it at 1MB” camp. My early guess is that the consensus will or has already form around that idea as well. What’s your take at this point?

(open discussion of small blocks / block size / UASF / Bcash / BSV etc)

Thanks so much for taking the time to join us on the Citizen Podcast today, it was a lot of fun. Is there anything you want to wrap up with?
