A) OS / Browser Settings
=========================

Fix Apple's dumb default touchpad settings:

System Preferences > Trackpad > Point & Click > Check the checkbox for Tap to click (which is unchecked by default). 
System Preferences > Trackpad > More Gestures > Check the checkbox for App Exposé (fifth checkbox from the top).
System Preferences > Accessibility > Pointer Control > Trackpad Options > Check the checkbox for Enable dragging (without drag lock).

Go to Startup Security Utility after you have installed Monterey 
    - Reduce the security level 
        - check the 2 options



Update the software checkbox in Software Update option

Disable Spotlight search for all miscellaneous crap except apps and system preferences
including stupid Developer option (make sure to add Xcode.app to /Applications not /user/swyx/Applications

Disable dictionary lookup: Trackpad -> Point & Click -> Look up & data detectors off

Finder settings:
Preferences → show filename extensions
Enable showing dotfiles (just hold Cmd + Shift + . (dot) in a Finder window)
Show path bar in footer for easier navigation
Prune the excessive sidebar bookmarks
create “Work” folder and pin it

Sharing-
Change computer name
Make sure all file sharing is disabled


TrackPad
  - uncheck Look up and Data Detectors
  - Secondary click  - click with 2 fingers
  
Finder
- remove all color tags
- Check show file extensions


Keyboard

Key Repeat -> Fast
Delay Until Repeat -> Short



1. Remove all sound effects

2. Turn on FileVault ( make sure you copy this to keepassXC with the date  ) 

3. Turn on Firewall

Installing multiple versions of Node
===================================

Don't install Node.js through Homebrew. Use nvm (below).

Use Node Version Manager (nvm) to install Node.js. This allows you to easily switch between Node versions, which is essential.
