Census DIM

This is a supplement to https://github.com/adventice/census, and contains content you need to make a table with:

• Headings for each value
• Subheadings for each value

Building the table

Carry out the following to build the table

CREATE TABLE dim_headings(
  heading text,
  subheading text,
  dim_id smallint
);

psql geo -c "\copy dim_headings \
    FROM data/2016/dissemination_areas/dim_titles.csv \
    CSV DELIMITER E'\t' NULL as 'null'"

Breakdown

• geo: Name of the DB
• dim_headings: Name of the table

This command runs inserts each line of the dim_titles csv into the geo database that's built from the result of the census repo linked above

Hey Brian, how did you generate dim_titles.csv? StatCan include new indicators in recent data release and I'm in the process to add them to https://github.com/adventice/census/
